BEDSIT spy Emma lost the plot yesterday after scheming Victor accused her of being racist.
Bisexual girls Emma and Michelle watched on a plasma TV screen in the secret bedsit just yards from the main house. And they were shocked to hear black London student Victor claim to Stuart that, within a few hours of meeting, Emma used the term n ***** eight times. Emma shrieked: 'Get me out of this room now because I'm going to f ***** g t ** t him.' Michelle tried to comfort tearful Emma when she returned from the diary room, where she had let off steam with the unseen female Big Brother representative. The 20-year-old legal admin worker from Lancashire told Michelle: 'I'm not a racist person. I've got all my friends out there in the black community that's what matters and they know I'm not a racist person.' Michelle calmed her down saying: 'I know you're not of course you're not.' A clearly dis-traught Emma cried: 'How could you say that,Victor? I've been brought up in a black community.' She then remembered: 'Victor came up to me last week and said to me, 'I think you talk similar to how I talk, we've got similar backgrounds. I knew when I met you we're on a similar wavelength.' ' The girls had also seen the Big Brother housemates blow £8000 for failing their Saturday night task. The challenge involved hanging from a bar above a patch of stinging nettles for 90 seconds. Marco, Ahmed,Victor and Nadia all came off the bar before the time was up. They had been told £2000 would be deducted from their £85,000 prize-money for every person who failed. No Kore, Victor and Emma (and a couple of others) were discussing words that are unacceptable, or misused... like in rap songs (which was Emma's example)... at NO point did Emma call Victor anything, he's doing his usual and stirring up trouble.

Emma is starting to annoy me intensly, especially since she has been in the bedsit with Michelle, but I don't think she's a racist. Victor is very clever and manipulated what she said and exagerated it.

But certain words should never be uttered in the first place, in any context because they are so vile
![]() Emma had no right to utter that word, no wonder Victor took offence. |

Wow Sticks, so it's fine for people that are black to utter 'that' word? As they so... so they must be complete vile and being racist to themselves too... oh wait, they don't.
See the problem of looking out of context? |

The rule is that the only people who can use a derogative are those people to whom the derogative is applied.

Most people, particularly the black people that I have known, do not subscribe to that rule, I'm afraid.
I'd further point out that in her context the word was inoffensive. If people can not take things in context, then the people are playing their 'card'. Much like gay people that say they're being 'discriminated' against, or when men go 'that's sexist'... or what have you. I live in a part of the country where things are taken in context, where if things are inoffensive you can say them. I particularly remember a large debate at school about that 'N' word in particular, which was taking place in the presence of a number of black people, all of whom found the discussion interesting to say the least - none of them claimed to be subjected to a racist slur against them. Discussion and debate are two vital things to reducing the problems that exist, people that decide you can't say things in any context are completely restricting the basic human right to both free speach and open discussions. Whilst I am not saying racial slurs are fine, what I am saying is inviting debate about them is perfectly acceptable, and I am fairly certain that most people agree with me on that one. |

I can't understand how Victor can be manipulating anything when, from his point of view, Emma is an ex-housemate.
I don't see what is to be gained for him even if he half-expects Emma to return. Anyway Victor didn't accuse Emma of being racist, just not thinking before speaking. |

100% agreed. I better not get started on this subject. All i will say is that "Cencorship" can also be regarded as "Vile" word when it is used to deny people from having an open and honest debate... Sadly our legislators seem to think they can outlaw racism.. You can't because no law can stop what a person is thinking. Only what they are saying. Racism can only be defeated through the hearts and minds. To do that all oppinions need to be heard. No matter how vile. If you don't know your enemy because they are barred from showing themselvs then you haven't a cat's chance in hell of changing them. It all goes underground and simmers until the pot boils over. I said I wouldn't get started on this subject so now I choose to censor myself...Back to some fun postings a a tinge of insults to spice things up. ![]() |
