Reading between the lines, carefully embedded within the subtext of this sentence, it is possible to interpret that Rebecca was telling Sylvia she that Stuart was patronising. "Fair enough," said Sylvia. "That's how you feel." Sylvia than gave her crisis of conscience some thought.
