I have just received this via email
17th June 04 Following events in the Big Brother house last night Channel 4 and Endemol issued this updated statement: The welfare and safety of the housemates is always our overriding concern, and with that in mind, the production team decided to intervene last night at a point where they felt the confrontation between the housemates had reached an unacceptable level. Our on site security team diffused the confrontation and the housemates were calmed down and sent to bed. The Big Brother production team has been talking to all housemates individually over the course of today with a view to sorting out tensions in the house and are closely monitoring them. They will be encouraging the housemates to work through their issues as a group. If they do not feel this is feasible they will consider an alternative course of action to guarantee the welfare of the housemates. As always professional psychologists are monitoring the situation and are on hand if any of the housemates wish to speak to them. The local police have made enquiries about events in the house last night following a handful of calls from members of the public. At present they have given us no indication of any issues arising from last night's broadcast. |

I think they are definintely trying to avoid evicting people over this, though it may end be inevitable that they have to as the only way of restoring the peace.
Welcome back Animal, nice to see you again. |

I just can't see how they could justify keeping them together.
They are only a relatively short amount of time in and already this amount of trouble, what happens when cabin fever well & truly sets in. Sure it makes great TV, but if the police are investigating this now then it must be serious. I want them all to stay, don't get me wrong, but from the point of Endemol it's too much of a high liability. Thanks for the welcome back ![]() |

I congratulate Endemol in their professionalism and the way they've handled the situation. Furthermore and contrary to what some have suggested, I do not believe Emma should be evicted from the house.

Who set this situation up in the first place ? (They are even going to talk about it on BBC Radio 4) They have been billing this as Big Brother Gets Evil just to get ratings. Looks like the tagline will be Big Brother gets cancelled. Endemol / Channel 4 have played fast and loose with health and safety. It is not just contestants who have lost the plot, it is Endemol / Channel 4 and now the police are involved. If housemates are brought before the court on assault charges, will any C4 / Endemol executive be in the dock? I think not ![]() |

I was just thinking today how ironic it was that Kitten broke all the BB rules except physical violence ..... !!
So now I think that makes every single BB rule broken this year, which must be a record. |

Victor it seems is insisting on being a verbal bully. In the diary room uncut this eve he vowed to lay into Emma every time. (Verbally that is)
Poor Emma is locked in the bedsit presumably alone. This cannot be good for her after being pent up for days. If Victor won't agree to stop his intimidating behavour every time as he puts it then he too should take his turn in the bedsit. See how he likes not being the centre of attention..... ![]() |

I agree Bananarama. Why is BB letting Victor dictate as to what he is going to do to another housemate. He should be booted out for that. I also think it is unfair that Emma has been punished in the way she has by being put in the bedsit again. BB aren't so dumb as to think that this situation was not going to happen after the girls went back in. After everything the girls saw and heard everyone expected it. As for police involvment I do think that's a little bit strong. I don't believe in violence of any kind, but Victor and Jason caused this situation last night, they were like two little boys who had their trains took away from the minute the girls were back. They showed the girls no respect what so ever and made everyone aware as to how angry they were. So in my opinion those 2 should be booted and 2 new people brought in. Vanessa was also a pain in the neck with her crying over food throwing etc, and that didn't help Jason's temper. Yes there are poor people in this world starving, but that is not the ordinary mans fault that is the fault of Goverments etc we all do our best in society through charities to help these people. Do you think if she makes money through going in to BB she will give it all to these poor people, I bet not. She is coming over as a very moralistic person but I notice her morals don't stretch as far as to her not having a maid when she lived in South Africa. Why did that girl ever enter BB in the first place if all she wants to do is play house. It is an experience of a lifetime, for goodness sake enjoy it and let your hair down. All this constantly being moralistic all the time is a pain in the butt. All said and done, I am glued to the TV so I must be very sad indeed cause it is great viewing lol.

I think Victor's bullying and violent conduct has completely taken them by surprise. Perhaps BB expected a little bit of confrontation, but not on the scale it reached last night. At the start of this series, I quite liked Victor even admiring him knowing the game he was playing. But now I find his behaviour completely unpredictable, and see him as a violent thug with a sinister side. So if anyone should be evicted in all this, it's him. I don't believe Emma should be singled out in all this and castigated while Victor is seen as the victim. If it was acceptable behaviour housemates responded shouting with violence, series 2 & 3 would have both ended bloodbaths. |

* Victor tried to stop it , along with stu *emma got in victors face and nujjed him *he called her over *she threw a TRAY at him FIRST!!! *he threw 1 bak*all started shouting Later on vanessa and shell were crying in bathroom *Nadia went in and tried to be innocent with a hug *Vanessa told her to leve her and shell alone! *nadia went off in a huff, said sumthing about vanessa *Vanessa went nuts, sayin "get the ****** out!! *security was called *all sleep sepurate in my opinion, Marco, Nadia and emma were to blame in all this, with Vanessa , Victor, Jay all striking back in anger! ![]() ![]() |

Aah, the fury, the anger, the torment. And that was just from watching Jay and Vic's faces in the first 30 secs of Em and Michelle going back in
![]() I don't think Vic is as bad as he is made out to be.. after all, Jay kicked it all off by intimidating Nadia, smashed over the table (and his original problem was the mess..?!) and then when Vic and Emma both were trying to help the situation their differences kicked in.. and Emma biffed a silver platter at the man's head.. ![]() |
