Default Thinking of auditioning next year...

I'll be fifteen then, but I'm not sure. People tell me I have a good voice but I'm really uncertain about it. I'm worried that the producers might let me through with a crappy singing voice or something. Has there been anybody who's been there before, and would they recommend going?

The X Factor. That's why it's in this forum. I thought it was quite blatant.

if your series about wanting to be a singer when your older then you shouldnt audition until you finish school but if your just doing it because its there then go ahead.

I went this year.

It's a good experience, but it's questionable as to whether it's worth going.
I didn't meet anyone famous though I did see Dermot O'Leary.
I know I can sing because of lessons+performing arts studies.
&Although the man himself told me I needed more experience and turned me down, very few good people got through?
Most people that got through were bad, decent, and the odd really good.
There was one girl that I'll never forget, she was incredible, and wasn't put through.

Yeh the producers like a mix... and they think of who is gonna make the show more fun to watch. Thats why so many bad people get to the main auditions.

I was gonna audition but the only thing that stopped was that you have to have a passport to audition and I didnt lol, im getting one now though so i might try it out next year, but i am also questionable about it... one of my mates tried out and didnt get through the producers and he is amazing. On the other hand my best mates mate from college got through to the top 10 in sharons group last year. She was one of the 2 kims... but the other kim got through.

No.. you don't :\
I wasn't asked to show any sort of ID.
I took my birth certificate just in case.
I don't have a passport either.

Well it says on the form that you need a valid UK Passport, Im assuming its for if you get into the final groups and you go abroad. They probably wont ask for it initially but eventually your are going to have to go abroad depending on how far you get...

I auditioned this year,
i dont think im an amazing singer but i can sing in tune and people have told me i'm good so i thought i'd give it a go..

i queued for about 4 hours in the pouring rain outside the o2 arena.. then when we got in everyone sat in the audience and there were like 20 screens at the front with a producer or 2 behind each.. i waited about 5 hours to be seen!!! Still soaked!!

when i auditioned there were 2 women producers and after i'd sang they were just like "sorry its a no today"! Not what i could improve on or anything.. so part of me feels as if its all for tv, lots of people were getting through at the begining and then not so many etc. I think they can only let a certain amount of people through and they also have to put through a certain amount of bad people aswel for tv! There were a couple of amazing singers auditioning before me and they wern't getting through.. it didnt make sense!

I think it was a good experience though.. it would have been better if it hadnt of rained!

You might as well give it a go just think of it as an experience and if you dont get through at least u've tried instead of watching it each year and thinking... urghh that could be me! lol

Hope that helps, good luck if you give it a go!

OMFG YOU WENT THE SAME DAY AS ME!
&I agree, a few amazing singers that never got through.

&Nope KKBL, there's like 3 rounds of producers.
The judges wouldn't have time to see 150,000 auditions in a couple of days.

Nope, I didn't audition until about half 5.
I was drenched, I actually was thinking of walking out.

I sang 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for'.

ooh
very good choice!
I heard a few people singing that!

I hated the lack of critique.
I was just told that I need more experience ¬__¬
I think most of it's for TV
Especially the stories.

Haha, same.
Very few people got through.
I saw this man and he was terrible and he got in =\

I guess the X-Factor's not really the place to be a successful singer unless you meet certain requirements.

I'm thinking of auditioning next year too i was going to audition this year but they are not coming to belfast this year ( no wonder like 1 person got through last year) and i'm just going to wait until i finish my GCSEs... but reading things that people are saying about the producers round is kind of scaring me because when i sing to people im a bundle of nerves.
