I dyed my hair yesterday, from a dyed blonde to a light brown, make sure you use a good brand of hair colour when dying it blonde because it could go ginger.

I dyed my hair on saturday, the best advice i'd say is make sure the person who's doing it knows what they are doing, If you're not going to a salon at least go to soembody whose trained or has experience in it.

ok what colour is your hair now if its 1 thats last 6 weeks it will wash out very soon if you havee dark hair, if you light hair then its ok, if its perment and you got dark hair you have to use a pre lighten before the dye so the colour will work, why not got for highlites that way it will just blend in, its great when you have a sister as a hiardresser, when she was at collage her mate wanted blonder hair and she was dark went very orange so just be very carefull ok

If you go in the sun with the dyed hair, it might bleach it a little bit and take a while to go nice. Might also go dry, rough and strawy. But that's rare LOL.

Show us pics when it's done, haha.

Make sure you bleach it then put blonde hair dye on... if you just bleach it it will go a yellow colour.
Your hair will feel worse when you do it but if you use conditioner it should be ok, i had to start using conditioner when i beached my hair i only ever used shampoo but now i have to as my hair goes really dry if i dont.

I had to bleach my hair about a month ago to get the blue out of my hair then i got my natural colour on top of it.

Where are you doing it? If its at home, get your friend to help you apply it evenly or you'll end up with blotches. Put vaseline on your hairline so it doesn't stain on your skin. Your hair doesn't look that dark but darker hair requires longer time for the colour to process. I suggest you do it at a salon because the colour almost never ends it up how you want it to look like, especially blonde.

Yeah I agree with Fom if your hair is dark then you need to bleach it, if you don't its like using a pencil crayon and drawing on black paper.

You'll look great blonde btw

I reckon perhaps going to a professional for the best results. But, if you are determined just make sure you have someone to help you. I've learned the hard way..

Blonde is a good option, but maybe someone professional should do it for you, sometimes if you die it blonde it goes a ginger colour whicn is good if you want that but not if you dont lol

Good luck!
xD

I was gonna dye mine blond but my boyfriend's housemate said she'd do it because it's extremely hard to do, and make look good, so I'm getting her to do it.

If your hair is brown [which I'm presuming it is? It looks a light blonde colour] use a lightener first, before you put the dye on.

Oh dear, thats to bad Kate awwww, well its probably best to wait as you say now, I think the blonde will look lovely for you (having seen your pic) but when you do it will be wise to take note from fairymoon, that is very sound advice she has.

Good luck, hope it works out well for you.

Yeh thats why... you need to bleach first, the dye will only work on light hair. You cant dye over a colour thats darker, for example if you wanna go light brown but you have dark brown hair you would have to bleach then go light brown, if you wanna go blue you would have to bleach then dye, it applies to anything lighter.
Its bad that I know this much about hair dye, but ive coloured mine alot lol, i feel that i should have fun with my hair now while i can

Don't do it. Seriously

It looks great but oh my it is hard work

I've literally, an hour ago, died mine to brown.
It makes your hair very VERY weak, and it makes it really disgusting. Evetually youll get roots, and then the blonde will turn into an orangey brown. Then you think 'oh ill re-dye it' and then your hair gets even weaker.

If your going a natural blonde thats great, but bleach blonde is a big mistake imo.

I don't suggest bleaching hair at home unless you have a professional helping you. Bleach really damages your hair.
