Default Why are we so offended by game players?

It IS a game. So why is it every year the public get all offended when one of the HM's shows they have a game plan.

What is so wrong with that?

I know, exactly what I've been thinking. Why bother applying to enter if ou don't want to win it? What is the point of going: "Oh yeah I'll apply. But I don't want to win."

I know. One of the reasons I also enjoy the US version. The game playing is all out in the open. I don't think the British public could cope with a UK season like that.

I think it's when people overplay that I get annoyed. Because, at the end of the day, there really isn't much of a game to play. They can't discuss nominations, so it's basically a popularity contest in the house followed by a popularity contest outside the house. The only real game is be yourself, be cool. Anything beyond that just seems like overkill. Forming "alliances" and groups is actually a bad game move...it usually results in you looking like the evil high school "clique" and that can get you evicted pretty fast.

Exactly, its a bit like people voting others off the Weakest Link specifically because they stand there and play the game of answering all the questions correctly,
(I'm voting Pauline the strongest link off because she's playing a game)

what makes this bizzare however is Anne Robinson together with all the studio audience and the viewers all ageeing that they were right in doing so
and thats exactly what happens so often for so long on BB

You make a good point but I feel Darnell was being hypocritical. He attacks other housemates for playing a game when he's clearly playing one himself. If Darnell said there weren't anything wrong with playing a game (like Billi) then I wouldn't mind it.

I agree with you guys. Every year its the same. Its like a HM with a game actually has some kind of contagious disease and the HM's shouldn't go near them. It's ludicrous.

It's like that woman on BBLB said. "Every time you leave the house you have a game plan" or something to that effect.

Because it isnt a game anymore, it's a popularity contest.

Isn't a contest rather similar to a game?

Indeed the public treat it as a contest instead of the psycholgy based game that it is meant to be.

To be honest viewers need to more sophisticated instead of the present knee jerk reactions of basic love or hate emotions determining which way they vote...

each year BB is treated more and more like a shoot em up in a fair ground.....Soon as a head pops up shoot it down and hope BB will throw in a few more heads to be mindlessly shot at....

I dont dislike HM's who have a game plan. What really annoys me is when certain HM's go on and on about others playing a clever game when really thay are too.

I dont think every1 who goes on BB have had gameplans and most of those who didn't ended up winning or getting to the final i.e samanda, brian, glynn. Also these are the ones that the public like the most because they seem 2 genuinly enjoy the experience. I dont think that there is anyone like that in this series.

Its a game, and people who say they dont have a gameplan are lying. I am certainly not offended by gameplans, its a smart move imo

Exactly, the only way it will be a game is if it goes down the US route.
I would like a tweak in the format for it to be more like a game but the majority of people wouldn't like that because they hate the game playing.

its not entirely a game show!
in the sence that someone has to win the show, it is a game!
but the experience of the people in there is a social experiment!......so basicly, the people that have been voted out showed an uncomfortable side of them that people dont like!!!! whats crap about this show is that people are not taking in things that we should learn about ourselves!
yes. you can be yourself wether your bad or not, but they shouldnt waste their big brother experience for a short period of fame, its not extremly hard to put on an effort to learn about yourself and try becoming a better person! O.o
