Default Would you go to the cinema on your own?

Just a random question because all of my friends are on a school trip to France, and I want to see a film but would you say it's 'weird' to go and see a film on your own?

I have never been on my own before, so personally would you go to the cinema on your own or is it just to uncomfortable for your liking?

I haven't been on my own, but I would. It's not like I sit and chat throughout the film anyway, and when I watch films in my house I do it alone...

I wouldn't enjoy the film as much, but I would yeah.
My mates always find something funny to laugh about, films cause us to make personal jokes and we are guilty of chatting through films [quietly; i might add]

I need the company lol. Itd be really weird walking about on your own, when everyone else is like a couple/group etc.

Out of curiosity: Why aren't you in France? And what film do you want to see?

I wouldn't because I like someone to go so I can steal their popcorn and then throw it over them
It would feel weird on my own and if the film is boring you can't talk through it.

I didn't want to go, I've been twice before and it was only a three day trip. I want to see WALL-E

I want to see Wall-E too! Don't you have young relatives you could take. A kid sister/brother/cousin/niece/nephew?

Wall-E looks surprisingly good actually, I usually don't like animated films but I might make an exception...

I have two young cousins who'd probably go and see it but I don't think my mum would allow me to take them on my own and I can't really imagine my mum sitting through a talking robot film if I'm being honest.

Nope. Never have done and never would do. The only point of going to the cinema is that it's a social event.

Why don't you get your mum to drop you all off at the cinema and pick you up afterwards? That way you are only responsible for the kids during the actual film.

That is a good idea but if you knew my mum you'd know she's the type of person who worrys about everything. If she agreed on that, I bet she'd end up turning up in the end.

But if you really wanted to see a film and nobody was there to go with you - wouldn't you consider it then?

Well you could surely put up with your mum for a couple of hours if you got to see the film. After all, it's not like she's there with you, she'd be there with the little kids. So you save face and get to see the film.

Suppose but she always wants to know what's going on and that, you should have seen her in Mamma Mia dancing in the aisles and everything.

Gladly. Last time I went I went with a mate who chose the film, which was rubbish and then spoke throughout. If I wanted to see a film and nobody would go with me, I wouldn't really care, it's dark in there anyway.

Nope. I'd wait until it came out on DVD.
