1) Obviously the show is faked. When the computer does her "complete overhaul" she can't do it in 2 seconds. And the people always look so shocked and surprised with how they look. I mean, come on, they must have seen themselves at some point during the make over. Also to get the before and after videos they would have to actually go out on the street with a photo... I mean it almost seems as if they record the interviews before they even do the makeover!
2) Some of the people look familiar on there, even though I can't put my finger on it. 3) It's pretty clear that when they press the buttons to select their styles, they are actually just moving their hand in thin air, but they always look like they are actually looking at it, which would take a lot of acting skill (as they actually have to react to the pictures they are shown). So... does it use actors? |

I'll tackle #3 first.
3) I took it as being a glass screen with a camera behind it. So they're touching the one they like, and it's computer graphics that make it "light up" etc. It's a very easy thing for the production company to do. Now, about #1... I've discussed this with a friend before, and this is an explanation I came up with. 1) They dedicate a full day to "makeunder" someone. They get them in, take a picture and the street team go out and do the "before" interviews. Then the makeunder occurs, a picture is taken of them and the street team goes out and does the "after" interviews. Then their new look is revealed to them and they're shown the interview. The reason it looks so fake is cos they edit out the boring bits (the waiting around). |

Ah, thanks Lauren. That makes sense.
But how do they keep the people from seeing themselves in a mirror before they're supposed to? |

Actors probably are used but not in the sense you think. The same people do the rounds on reality programmes and other programmes. Examples include Sasha: Beauty Queen at 11's mum was on Wife Swap, the same contestants have been on both Deal or no Deal and Goldenballs, a woman who did Holiday Showdown popped up in Sugar Rush and Mario & Lisa from BB9 have been on practically every programme going. Don't be surprised if you've seen them before on something similar, the chances are you probably have.

They're not acting, but they take part in a lot of TV shows. |

well maybe as its the stylist doing the make under they don't need a mirror to look at another person. you only really need a mirror to see yourself. i mean do u use a mirror to look at your mum. that wasn't meant in a rude way don't worry |
