Potatoes make perfect sleep camoflauge when I visit my mom
1st take a smallish spud, peeled and sliced into you eyes socket size and shape.
2nd, fry a little to brown (skip this stage if your caucasion or albino ..lol)
3rd, draw on the eye ball details and slip behing your specs

Now your ready to snooze away whilst Mother chats to you thinking your paying attention, for best results ask a question you know gets a really good/bad reaction.
Like how do you cook chicken best mom? Isnt it terrible about the starving kids in Zimbabwe mom?
As soon as she speaks I'm in sleepy heavenly bliss

I love good old fashioned mashed potato, can't beat it! Unless it's that awful instant mash that tastes of nothingness. Yuck.

Thank god it's sunday tomorow, time for a good old fashioned sunday dinner!

One other way of serving them I came across was to steam new potatoes and sell them in paper bags.

Anyone who has gone to Bury Market in Lancashire will know what I am talking about hopefully

Source

At home I put Red English potatoes in with meat joints I cook.

How about Lancashire Hot Pot - I miss that being east of the Pennines

Another good word is pottage.

BTW when doing jackets, which to people prefer, conventional (Takes a while) or microwave?

I prefer conventional
