New entrant Becki is the subject on the lips of all the housemates, fuelling wild speculation about what she knows and what devilment she has up her sleeve.

But appreciating how hard it must be to join the House in week five, they couldn't help giving the new girl just a little respect.

"It takes guts to come in at this stage," kicked off Shell. "I don't know if I could be fun about it."

"You must've really, really, really wanted to do it," added Marco, REALLY labouring his point. With his mum warning him he'd be "mad" to go in half way, the harem leader insisted he would have refused.

"I put my hand up to her," chipped in Dan, remarking that she has "a hell of a job to do".

And he would know, having stealthily planted a foot in both the jungle cat's camp and that of the food-flinging kids.

They also noted that it's not just the original group that new housemates can have problems with.

"Even the Press seem to have a way of not taking to you," commented Victor. "It's tough."

After heaping a bit more praise on the newcomer, they all agreed that though it was a bit weird, it was good to have some new blood.

"It's better to have more people than less," argued Shell, "because when Michelle and Emma went it was just a quiet, quiet House."

"Ten people at week five!" cried Marco in disbelief at how things were panning out.

Inevitably the conversation moved back to what Beckie might know.

"She must've seen everything, 'cos she brought us tobacco and KY jelly - I'm mortified!" exclaimed Shell, though unfortunately she didn't elaborate on what the latter personal item was for.

"I'm itchin' to drag her to the love shack, cover her mike and say 'what do you know?'" said a suspicious Victor.

"She does know alot 'cos she said 'Chicken Stu'," gossiped Marco. "That has newspaper headline splashed all over it."

Dan obviously hadn't heard this one, and was miffed he hadn't thought of it himself.

"I can't believe we missed that one, Victor," he said to his sniggering companion. "Chicken Stu - of course!"
