June Brown has bought actor donkeys.
June Brown, who plays religious Dot Branning in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, has adopted two donkeys called Baz and Beethoven. The rescued animals will star in a Christmas nativity play in Buxton.
June, a President of the Michael Elliott Trust, has adopted the donkeys from Freshfields Donkey Village, where they help children with special needs. The placid animals are saved from neglect and abandonment.
When June was asked how Dot would react to the outdoor animals, she jokily replied: "I don't think she'd like them really. Too smelly. Too unhygienic."
