thats not the point if your a millionaire your intellegent because your rich... id say footballers are smart because they done a sport that they know brings in a massive amount of money and with the paycheques they get... you could call them unintellegent but they'd just get in their lamborghini/ ferrari and drive back to their mansion whilst your there in a focus... |

I'd say they definately mix, I'd say I'm reasonably inteligent so if I went to the gym and buffed up I'd be a mix.
Like Fom said it's just a stereotype. |

I don't think money means intelligence. They just follow a career path they want to do, not necessarily for the money- just like the rest of us really.
I mean you could take this away from sport, there are loads of people in TV who have good PR agents that make them money but they're quite thick. Jade Goody springs to mind. She's not exactly Einstein but has made millions. |

There are 7 different types of intelligence *smug look on face*
1. Linguistic Children with this kind of intelligence enjoy writing, reading, telling stories or doing crossword puzzles. 2. Logical-Mathematical Children with lots of logical intelligence are interested in patterns, categories and relationships. They are drawn to arithmetic problems, strategy games and experiments. 3. Bodily-Kinesthetic These kids process knowledge through bodily sensations. They are often athletic, dancers or good at crafts such as sewing or woodworking. 4. Spatial These children think in images and pictures. They may be fascinated with mazes or jigsaw puzzles, or spend free time drawing, building with Leggos or daydreaming. 5. Musical Musical children are always singing or drumming to themselves. They are usually quite aware of sounds others may miss. These kids are often discriminating listeners. 6. Interpersonal Children who are leaders among their peers, who are good at communicating and who seem to understand others' feelings and motives possess interpersonal intelligence. 7. Intrapersonal These children may be shy. They are very aware of their own feelings and are self-motivated. Thought I'd tell everyone and make everyone feel intelligent. Happy times for us all. |

If I started a thread saying: 'pretty blonde girls and intelligence don't mix', I wonder if it'd last as long as this one has?

The OP didn't make a statement that SHE believed was true, it was meant as a light debate as far as I can see?

To be honest, I think there is definitely a correlation but I don't think its a sweeping statement. |

It'd be like saying- there's a blonde on bb that's smarter than a brunette so that sort proves that blondes are smarter! Doesn't mean anything. |

"Muscles and intelligence don't mix.. discuss if you wish" does sound like a statement to me! If I'd have worded it: "Blondes and intelligence don't mix.. discuss if you wish" it'd be treated worse! I could say I didn't mean to offend later on in the thread but needless to say, some blondes would probably still have been offended by that statement. |

If we're talking about academic intelligence, we only need to look at Oxford Universities participation (and often winning) in certain sports to see the statement is not exclusive.
