Inoccent untill proven guilty. Because if it was the other way around then it shows that society is quick to name-blame and shame. I think it would be very hard to cope if you were inoccent and everyone thought that you were guilty.

Innocent till proven guilty. Its better for guilty people to go free than for innocent people to be imprisoned.

Innocent until proven guilty. There's plenty of occasions where people have been accused of things that turn out to be false, it's unfair to just place the blame on people straight away with only a certain amount of evidence.

Innocent until proven guilty.

I have noticed some people like to see it the other way around though, if there's enough negative stereotypes surrounding the person in question- ie: some think teenagers are guilty of something just because they are teenagers or a black person is more guilty because they are black or people who say that they think someone must have done it because 'he/she looks dodgy' or some other reason that has nothing to do with actual evidence.

I don't know if you have it in your Constitution but we have a line in the French one that states 'Everyone is innocent until proven guilty'.
And I strongly agree with this.

The way in which our jury system works it is guilty until proven innocent. You are treated as though you have done it even up until the court case. I think the fact that you can be put into custody in prison before you've even been proven as guilty says it all really.

That's it in a nut shell...........If people were really treated as innocent until proven guilty then no one would be able to be locked up for public safety.......Guilt is always assumed......Even though politition might try and brain wash us into believeing different..

Defacto it is "Guilty, even if some half brain dead befuddled jury can't see that the toe-rag is obviously guilty because he / she is a ____________ (Insert stereotype) and they would not have been on trial if there weren't guilty"

Rumpole used to have a saying about it better for 12 guilty to go free than to convict an innocent for that would be spitting in the face of justice.

However it seems to be

"It is far better to hang draw and quarter 12 innocent men and women, than to let one toe-rag off, for to let a toe-rag off would be to spit in the face of all Daily Mail Readers"

(Oh I do read the Daily Mail online, so I don't have to pay for it)

But thats not the case at all. There have been a couple of high profile cases this year where people have been imprisoned for years for a crime they didn't commit. If you're on your own and have no alibi, you can just fit the aesthetic description and be sent to prison whether you did it or not. The government are too busy with meeting targets and closing cases even if its the wrong result, to the government that case is just a statistic.

Absolutely, without a single doubt, innocent until proven guilty! Otherwise, some stranger could accuse me of robbing him in the middle of the night and ka-bam, I'm in jail!

Well thats exactly how it works if there is a grain of evidence that suggests it was you and nothing to suggest anything about the real culprit.

I still think guilty until proven innocent.

bigbr0ther, I know this is very random, but I was looking at you banner and its says "Magical Week 8, when my fave gets evicted". its really strange that the 3 biggest characters was evicted at that stage.

Look how weird this about who was evicted in Week 8:

BB2: Paul Evicted
BB5: Victor Evicted
BB6: Science Evicted
BB7: Nikki Evicted
BB8: Charley Evicted
BB9: Luke Evicted

Very Very strange.

Just to clarify, it is officially Innocent until proven guilty beyond all reasonable doubt, however there is the old fallacy that can get in the way that says, Why would they put him on trial if he weren't guilty?

Also the tabloid media tend to convict people in advance
