If a certain fourth century Egyptian monk was onto something when he defined the seven deadly sins, then the housemates had better watch out.

Shaving chest hairs, wishing you had bigger boobs, scoffing too much Chinese takeaway, cheeky snogging, major barneys and sleeping through the alarm has become something of a routine for the housemates.

But each of those activities can carry a heavy penalty - though we doubt it will come down to eternal damnation...

Pride / Vanity

Man in the mirror, Jason Cowen makes a thousand-person banquet out of his daily beauty regime; shaving his chest and applying fake tan can take anything up to 40 minutes. Nadia's been known to take almost as long over her hair, while Mona Lisa was probably painted in less time than it can take Michelle to do her face.

Envy

The green-eyed monster has oft reared its ugly head in the House. Nadia was jealous of Vanessa's hips (or so said Vanessa), while in turn Vanessa wanted bigger boobs - just like Nadia's. The boys haven't been without a touch of jealousy though - many an envious male eye has given Jason's award-winning buttocks the once over.

Gluttony

Ructions ensued after certain housemates wasted provisions by throwing them around the garden for fun. But when they're not fighting with food, the housemates are piling plenty of it away. On Day 47, the housemates refused to take a rain check on Big Brother's offer of a Chinese, despite the fact they were half way through dinner - and happily gorged on both.


Lust

Jason finally got it together with Vanessa 18 days into their stay in the House, but there was much less of a build up to Stuart and Michelle's Day 5 duvet sesh. However, much to the lady's frustration, follow-ups haven't quite matched the under-duvet passion of the moment. Shy Stu wants to wait until they leave the House. Bless.

Wrath

The pressure cooker environment of the Big Brother House has resulted in all manner of ridiculous rag-losing moments. Shell nominated Marco because of his love of chicken nuggets, Ahmed destroyed plates and House mannequin Maureen, and Nadia blew her top when her cigarette stash ran dry.

Greed

The rebellious housemates were well up for supporting Kitten during her proposed eviction squat. But they soon changed their minds and gave her a firm goodbye hug when they were told they prize money was dropping rapidly for every moment the furious feline spent in the House after being ordered out.

Sloth

They can pull out all the stops for a round-the-clock boot camp lookout, and be dressed in school uniforms and ready for assembly in record time. But trying to get the defiant housemates out of bed on an ordinary morning is a thankless task. Forty minutes of screaming baby is water off a duck's back for the dozy dorm dwellers.
