Because people can live an element of danger through the media without being in any actual danger. Thus enhancing their boring lives. You just need to pad that out a bit.

People are nosey and want to know what is going on with crimes, so they watch it on TV? I mean you always see people watching when theres a police car somewhere.

Because it's realistic and exciting, basically. Brings together fantasy and real life...if that makes sense. I'm sure there's lots of media-lingo you can stuff in here and there.

Because it lets people look in on other peoples lives, and see what made the killer, kill

I don't know if this will help, but I did a similar assignment before and I devoted a whole section to whether or not it was the crime in society that influenced film and tv and therefore we enjoy it because it seems realistic to us, or is it the crime in tv and films that actually influences our society and therefore we watch it looking for answers to our problems. do you get what I mean?? I don't explain myself very well sometimes!!
