Default Cameron\'s column.........

Here's what Cameron has to say this week.........

Quote:
I want to be in
panto with Vic

By Cameron Stout

WELL, I can now reveal that the person I was backing to win Big Brother . . . got voted out on Friday!
I thought Victor was total class — even though he said last year’s BB was rubbish!
So I was astonished to see him evicted.
A big reason why I liked him so much shone through in the eviction interview. I’ve never seen such a genuinely good-natured reaction from any of the evictees and he was roaring with laughter the whole way through when they showed him the clips.

Victor is evicted from the Big Brother house.

Davina revealed that until Victor’s arguments with Shell and Dan on Wednesday’s wedding night, it was Jason who was way ahead in the voting to go. Victor seems to have brought about his own demise.
Mistake
Having watched it again, I have to say that he was out of hand. I think he realises he made a mistake and will now be regretting having been in a bad mood that day.
What’s interesting is that this year’s evil BB is a reaction to criticisms that last year was too nice.
While you might think the public would be keeping in the people most likely to stir things up and make it entertaining, they still seem to be voting them out and sticking with the nice people they like.
When you’re inside it’s difficult to gauge how the public will react. One week, myself, Steph and Lisa the new housemate were all nominated.
It was a bit nerve-wracking because you thought, “Lisa’s stirring it up so the public’s bound to want to keep her in because she’s intriguing and causing trouble and division”.
Yet Lisa got the biggest vote to get her out in the history of Big Brother.
There are diehard BB fans who want to keep in the controversial characters. But there’s criticism this year that the characters are so much like a soap opera that it’s no longer reality TV — it’s too unreal.
It was a shame, but after Victor got out the wrong side of bed on Wednesday he warned that nobody should cross him.
He said there was something about everybody he didn’t like and he was going to tell them.
He was really nasty to Dan, and quite nasty to Shell.
Now you might say that in proper society you don’t do that sort of thing, but within the House it’s not proper society. In there, your joys are heightened, your sadness is deepened — all your emotions are exaggerated.
But I also suspect that’s how Victor would be in real life.
If he’s got a gripe, he probably says, “Listen bro . . . ” and then says his piece.
Davina was trying to get out of him whether he was playing a part, but I think what we saw is the real Victor.
Not a baddie
He’s not a baddie. He proved that on the eviction night. He’s fun and funny, very clever and a good observer of life. And he’s not an insensitive guy.
They talk about him being a gangsta, but red polka dot pyjamas aren’t gangsta garb in my book!
Listen, he was in the diary room one time saying he wanted his mum to come in and give him a hug. You can’t fault someone for that kind of emotion.
I hope Victor doesn’t disappear.
He and Jason were talking about receiving offers to do panto and I reckon Victor would be an ideal baddie.
Who knows, maybe one day he and I will end up on the same stage.
That would be hilarious.

Jason’s next in line for the boot
ONCE AGAIN BB has come up with something new.
There aren’t going to be any nominations by housemates this week, meaning they’ll all be up for eviction.
That’s interesting, because it could be that someone is very popular with their fellow housemates, but isn’t so well received by the public.
Last year, Scott seemed to come over to the public as boring and yet he was hugely popular with the housemates. He would sit listening and then come out with these occasional one-liners that cracked us all up. But unfortunately, occasional one-liners don’t always get shown on TV.
Now, for the first time ever, the housemates have no input in deciding who we vote for. It’s a free-for-all and the public decides everything.
My feeling is that the votes this week will be split between Jason and Michelle.
Michelle, because people are getting so incensed by her possessiveness and jealousy about Stuart.
She seems to bring out a reaction in people, and I know I’ve never had my opinion changed so often about a BB housemate. I’m going through another period of not liking her.
Jason, because people are fed-up with his non-contribution to the house. They’re saying all he ever does is sleep and exercise.
That’s not the sort of person I want to watch in there — I want someone who is more fun.
Much as I want the Scots to do well, I think it’ll probably be Jason who goes.
Going from the crowd reaction this week, there’s a lot of support for Nadia to win.
I’m sure it’s not from people just thinking she’s been through a lot in her life and deserves a break. I think, and I hope that they’re backing her because they find her entertaining.
Nadia herself wouldn’t be looking for any sympathy vote. She’s just looking for . . . lurve!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She’s simply infatuated
THE EVENT of the week was probably meant to be the wedding, but I suppose it was the first BB ‘bonk’ — not an expression I’d normally use.
Michelle did set herself up for this from the start when she said she was going into the BB house to have sex.
But I’ve never seen such blatant orchestration as that under- the-table incident.
The bookies are paying out so they must be accepting the deed occurred.
In a way, I’m relieved it didn’t end up as the Michelle and Stuart wedding. Stuart tried to tell her why he didn’t want it to happen but she wasn’t for listening. The girl is simply infatuated.
It’s lovely Stuart’s getting all this attention, but even his pals outside have said she’s not the kind of girl he’d normally go for.
He’s a young man and has feelings for her, but he’s stumbling over trying to articulate them.
Michelle has this need to be wanted. It’s a shame, because she does seem nice, is a good-looking girl and she’s a strong character.
I think she has genuinely strong feelings for him and it must be frustrating that he can’t say how he’s feeling.

It was quite a week for weddings — and not just the one on BB.
On Friday, I played piano at the wedding of long-time family friends Shelagh and David. When I’m at home I’m the church pianist, so the hymns were quite straightforward.
But some of the stuff for the bride’s arrival we didn’t really like, so Shelagh’s sister Amy composed a special tune.
It’s called Ceol na Bainnse, which is Gaelic for “wedding music”, and it’s a right special tune, I think.
Amy plays bass guitar in the church band — though she could hardly join us because she was the bridesmaid — but another friend, Innes, was on violin.
We only wrote it down for the first time on Tuesday, so I’d not had long to practise.
I was playing on the piano I bought for my church and I had it tuned specially. Only thing is, that meant any bum notes were all mine!

Well, tarra for noo!
