Default /Could/ the age be lowered to 16?

this might seem stupid, but why isn't the age 16? as long as under 18's are not allowed to drink and smoke i don't see the problem.

Because you're not considered an adult until you're 18.

Thats the problem. I would hate to see all the older housemates drinking and I can't (not the same with smoking cause I hate it but yeh) and they have different rights and s**t.

If you're under 18 then there's only a certain amount of hours that you can spend on a TV set per day in this country, I think that's one one the main reasons why they don't allow them.

yeh theres loads of rules that dont allow it. like healt and safety and responsibility if one of them gets hurt or somthing like that. theres loads of rules that would just not make it possible.

Technically the housemates are working for Endemol and you aren't allowed to work after 10 or 11pm if you're under 18

Because by law, under 18s cannot sign legally binding contracts. Plus can you imagine the uproar if they broke the no drinking or swearing rule set?

The age limit needs to be upped.

Good god no! If I want to watch 16/17 year olds running around and generally being annoying (not all of you are i know), but most are way too immature to be on BB and DEFINATELY not old enough to handle some of the things that could occur, like potentially being the most hated person for a while. It ould seriously damage their health and mentality.

Keep it at 18. Or it may be raised to 21 (as drinking age is due to rise soon, and there are some big shake-ups on age restrictions on things being raised)

16/17 Is just 1 or two year below the age of 18.
How does that mean as soon as you turn 18, you "grow up".

Excuse me? Bex ran around and was anoying...She was 21. I do agree that it should be 18, but nor for the reason you said about running about abd being anoying.

I think 18 year olds should be allowed for another year (as I'm auditioning in Jan) and then stopped. Teen BB was made with 18 and 19 year olds because they weren't allowed at the time and it was never bought back, now that 18 and 19 year olds are allowed on the normal one, there's no room to bring it back. Which is sad in a way.

What would happend if the live feed happend to broadcast a fully nude 16 year old and how far could Channel 4 hint on hl shows that a sexual activity took place under the blanket?

I´m not to sure about the law in Uk since I live in Sweden but I´m not surpised if it could be viewed as child porn or very close to being cp.
