Default Families should have no more than two children

From the Daily Mail

Quote:
Families should have no more than two children if they want to help combat climate change, according to new research by a thinktank.

According to the report, published by the Optimum Population Trust, Britain's high birth rate is a major factor in the current level of climate change, which can only be combatted if families voluntarily limit the number of children they have.

The report calls for a 'two-child' policy in the UK that would reduce the nation's population from 60 million, as it currently stands, to no more than 55 million by 2050.
This smacks of the China one child policy, but what do other people think?

It's up to families how many children they have, not the State.

Sorry, I wasn't thinking properly...

From 2012 births or some time in the future it could be applied, not having children taken away etc

Eh sterlise all the lil skanks that pop kids out just to get free housing and plenty of benefits..

that will cut the population down.

People should only have children when they are ready and its not a 100% selfish act.

Its ridiculous what people are being told to do just to save the planet
It upto parents to decide how many children they have, telling people to have so many children something with Hitler did.
**** the planet, I don't care for it because I wont be here to see it in the supposed really bad times which lay ahead.
Instead of listening to **** like this people should be getting on with their own lives and doing what they want to. We only have one life so make the most of it.

"Britain's high birth rate is a major factor in the current level of climate change". Possibly the stupidest statement I've heard this year. What high birth rate?! It's positive yes, but high, no chance. The main reason for our increasing population is immigration.

This has got nothing to with pollution and climate change. The Optimum Population Trust are a bunch of lunatics with an agenda, their policies remind me of Hilter somewhat, and the Chinese policy of course. We're constantly fed exaggerrated BS about how climate change will destroy the Earth by so many people.

The European population is getting older and older therefore we don't have young people like we used to before therefore Families should have more than 2 children because it has been stated that, in order to create a complete new generation, we need to reach ,at least, 2 children per family.

(Thanks to my Politics lessons at Uni lol)
