The housemates were stirred from their slumber last night by some strange noises. Could there be ghosts in the Big Brother House?!

Surely not!

In fact, they were disturbed by workmen sneakily erecting scaffolding in the garden.

Dan was the first to jump up, excited by the prospect of seeing a real live member of the outside world.

Not much rouses Jason from his bed these days but upon hearing some banging himself, and seeing Dan peering round the bathroom door, he was up like lightening and jogged over.

"What's going on?" whispered the nap champ. "It's ********** madness."

Standing there in their skimpy shorts, the pair ducked and dived to get a better view, rousing Nadia, who also went over for a peek.

But she simply wanted to go to the loo, and showed little interest in the garden activities.

"They don't seem to be building anything," whispered Dan. "It might be general maintenance," he concluded.

But like a flash, they were gone and the housemates tottered back to bed.
