Big Brother has been pumping the sound of a baying crowd into the House as a reminder of what might be in store for the next evictee.

But the housemates have grown accustomed to the racket and are now immune to the slings and arrows of misfortune.

The first housemate to receive the booing treatment was Vanessa. Her exit to catcalls and screams visibly shocked the housemates. Shell was especially hard hit and cried "What has she done?" as her friend faced the public.

But in recent weeks, everyone has had to toughen up, as booing has become a feature of eviction nights.

Even Shell is now laid-back about the crowd response. She told Nadia, "I think we will all get booed, apart from Stuart." She then added with a shrug: "They seem to like to boo this year."

Jason also claims he's not bothered by his unpopularity. "I know I'll get booed, I've done things in here I'm not proud of," he told Big Brother on Day 65.
