X Factor's Laura bags her first Number One

She may be a star in the making on TV's The X Factor but Laura White already has a Number One to her name.

The 21-year-old singing sensation, who is second favourite to win the £1m talent show, has topped Metro's online music chart for unsigned artists.

Likened to Amy Winehouse, the Manchester girl, joined MEmusic to promote her original songs before breaking through on The X Factor.

The track "For The Love Of It All" is currently at Number One in the MEmusic chart with her second track "Sunshine" at Number Two.

She describes herself as: "A soul, jazz, blues solo artist from Manchester. I have been singing professionally from the age of 15. Music is my life."

Her influences are listed as Aretha Franklin, Eva Cassidy, Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse, and Whitney Houston.

MeMusic is Metro's online music networking site which showcases unsigned acts allowing them to upload and sell their songs.

Last year's X Factor winner Leon Jackson has already tipped Laura to win this year's competition, which is broadcast on ITV.

"She's pushing the boundaries of The X Factor and she's pushing herself with her song choices," he said.
