Default God...the Nightmare on Elm Street movies are so disappointing.

With Halloween this Friday, i decided to get some DVD's to scare myself on the night. So i asked almost everyone i saw which was the most scariest film ever, that would really make me terrified, at least 15 of them said "Oh, Nightmare on Elm Street's really scary, watch that". I went shopping and saw the Nightmare on Elm Street movie boxset (All of the movies included) and bought it.

I couldn't control myself and watched the first one. God...it's rubbish. It's not even scary. I thought "well, the second may be scarier". It's even worse! It's about a guy who is clearly in the closet about his sexuality . Then i said..."right, the third may be freaky" watched it...it was worse. Can the films get any worse? They aren't even scary

There is still some time before Halloween, does anyone know any other scary horror films, and if one of you say Scream i'll kill you

Ive ehard from so many people that A Nightmare on Elm Street was really scary, with the 3rd one the next scariest. Ive watched abit of the 3rd one and crapped myself, but this was about 5 years ago. Must be just you, you must really not get scared. Because ANOES is named one of the scariest movies.

But i do know where your coming from, sometimes when people say "OMGG, Thats so scary!" Im like Noo. Eg. The Shining is voted the scariest film ahead of The Exorcist, The Shining isnt creepy imo.

I am a HUGE fan of the Scream movies, if you want a scary one, go for the first one, the beginning bit must be the most chilling scene in the history of horror imo. Scream 2 isnt that great though, but Scream 3 I love because its 60% comedy and 40% horror, love the characters in the 3rd one.

I would rate them like this:

Scream
Scream 3
Scream 2

I can remember watching the first one at Halloween along with Scream and Friday the 13th and it scared the crap out of me, especially when the girl was dragged up the wall and ceiling. I was scarred for life!!

Nightmare on Elm Street is a good horror film, it's dated though. It's sequels are awful though (Except for the 3rd and Final Nightmare). If you want scary films try American Werewolf in London this film scared me so much as a kid I never watched it again not even now.

As for Rating the Scream films I'd say;

Scream
Scream 2
Scream 3.
