IT’S official—BRITNEY SPEARS will be performing on The X Factor in two weeks’ time, I can exclusively reveal. And who else to tell me but the show boss himself . . . SIMON COWELL. I joined him on a very, very drunken night at the exclusive Mr Chow restaurant in London after he picked up the Special Recognition gong at the National TV Awards on Wednesday. As you can see we were both looking our best as I got a taste of being papped—yes that’s me swaying in the background— when we ended our celebratory session at 4am. After what seemed like our 20 millionth drink Simon spilt the beans that Toxic singer Brit will be on The X Factor on November 15. He told me: “I’m really excited about it, because she’s got her act together now and the new record’s terrific. “She’s come back from a very dark place and is a great artist.” That’s not a bad recommendation to get. As many teary-eyed X Factor contestants will tell you, Simon Cowell isn’t a man who’s easily impressed. We’ve all seen pop princess Britney’s meltdown over the past few years, but she’s getting back to her best with new single Womanizer. Simon continued: “I think that what’s happened in the last two years has made her more interesting. “She wants to be the biggest star in the world again—and she’s got a shot.” But Britney isn’t the only act Simon thinks is going to take the world by storm shortly. Remember my little mate—and private dance tutor—GEORGE SAMPSON who won Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year? Simon revealed: “I think George is going to surprise a lot of people this year. “He’s bringing out a DVD, but then I heard him rap and I decided, why not. I’m actually going to put a single out.” I’m thinking Candy Girl by New Edition—a song released a decade before George was even born! Back to the X Factor hopefuls and what does Simon make of this year’s finalists? “This is probably one of the best line ups we’ve ever had. I’m not sure we’ll ever find anyone as good as LEONA, but in terms of a bunch of people we have on the show, this year is amazing.” He reckons there are two artists to look out for. “When I look at DIANA VICKERS I think, ‘This girl could be special’. She’s my favourite as she’s a very current artist. “She’s quirky and different and you can recognise her voice instantly. She’s got her own sense of style—I think she could be a real star. And she’s definitely got the most commercial potential.” But Simon’s still backing one of his own acts to give Diana a run for her money. “I wouldn’t rule out EOGHAN at the moment—he could be the little dark horse.” Of course, the real star of The X Factor this year is not one of the acts—but new judge CHERYL COLE. “Everyone loves her—me included. We just click.” He laughed: “I said to her the other day, ‘You’re like a female me in a lot of ways’, which she didn’t take too well!”. And despite the rumours this series hasn’t been full of back-biting and bitchiness—it’s just a good clean competition. “Everyone just wants to win. Today, I had Louis literally charging into my room looking red-faced because he thought I’d nicked a song from his group JLS. But it’s all part of the fun.”: colour: |

I REALLY hope she performs live.
Even if it is impossible with the song :\ It'd by kinda hypocritical if she didn't seeing as it's a singing competition &I reckon there'd be complaints like there were with the X-Factor single being mimed. Either way, should be interesting. |

Oh my god, I really can't wait! It's going to be amazing and I don't think she'll sing it live because it'd be almost impossible to sing Womanizer live but either way it will be great!

Edit: Just listened to Womanizer and I can't see why she can't sing it. Unless her voice has been heavily edited in the song. |

-couldn't resist- I do agree with Matt08 though. Even if her voice has been heavily edited, she should at least sing over the top of a track. It would look bad on her if she was to mime. |
