Cancer-stricken Jade Goody admits she's going through the menopause at 27 Jade Goody has revealed she has started going through the early menopause after undergoing radiotherapy for her cancer.
The reality TV star, 27, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August and underwent a hysterectomy the following month.
After beginning a course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the mother-of-two has succumbed to early menopause.
Early menopause is a known side effect of radiotherapy because it stops the ovaries from working.
Speaking to New! magazine this week, Jade reveals how she has adjusted to going through the menopause at such a young age.
Jade also confirmed reports that doctors have given her a 50/50 chance of survival after learning the cancer has spread to tissue surrounding vital abdominal organs.
She said: 'I expected to get thin (after chemotherapy), but you don't. I'm going to be fat and bald.'
Jade has cited her mother Jackiey Budden as a pillar of strength throughout her battle with the disease.
She explained: 'My mum is my closest friend right now. My mum's amazing.'
Despite her prognosis, the Big Brother 3 star is looking forward to the future and hopes to marry on/off boyfriend Jack Tweed, who is currently serving time for assault.
She said: 'I love him and he loves me and we keep going back to each other.'
Jade has disguised her health problems from young sons Bobby Jack, five, and Freddie, four, because she believes they are too young to understand and would find it upsetting.
Describing her way of explaining her hospital visits to the boys, Jade said: 'They think I've got tadpoles in my belly and when I go to hospital the medicine makes the tadpoles go to sleep, which makes me tired. And when the tadpoles die, my hair falls out.'
Last month, she revealed she was planning her own funeral.
She said: 'Most people plan their weddings. But I'm planning my funeral.
'Some people say they don't want people crying, but I want people to cry over me!
'And I don't want anyone to have a booze up when I'm dead! They should have a cup of tea and be crying!', she said.
The full interview with Jade is in this week's issue of New! magazine, out today.
