Right back to Laura.... and week 1
Now, although I can see what John Barrowman is saying in the article above and I agree she has one hell of a voice, she still is outstanding as a singer of blues and jazz type music. I do believe with the right vocal coaching the problems of her diction can be sorted. What she has done is to over stylized the from of singing that suits her voice to the point that the voice is just an instrument to add to the music and she has lost the importance of the words. Interestingly the same criticism that was piled on Austin the week before and saw him voted off the show. If she can get rid of this problem and let the weight of the words add to the importance of the music, this girl is world class. |
