Simon and Louis may not be among them, but Daniel Evans has been 'flattered' to discover he's got loads of fans among the voting public.

He's been through the wringer a lot on the show but the Spain-based dad has support from all sorts of places - not least the many ladies out there who want him to win!

Danny told us, "I have been lucky enough to get a bit of fan mail and I really appreciate everyone's good wishes".

"I've tried to call some people back to say thanks but one lady put the phone down - I had to put Marvin and Aston on the phone before she would believe it was me".

But bashful Dan is playing down his new-found heart-throb status.

He told us, "To be honest, I haven't had that many offers".

"I think because of what happened, people don't know where I am. They might think it would be wrong to say anything, especially because I still always wear my wedding ring."

"I always said I was only ever going to get married once - and I do still believe that."

But although Daniel hasn't made any efforts to get back into the dating scenes, eight-year-old viewer Emily wrote in telling him it was time to take the plunge again.

Dan told us, "Emily wrote to me and said, 'Daniel, you are single and my auntie is single - she's really gorgeous too'".

"In the end I left a message for Emily's aunt on the phone, saying 'Who knows what the future holds? But at the moment I'm busy with The X Factor, and I'm not quite ready for that!'"

He joked, "But don't let that put you off girls - come forward and say hi, I'm very flattered."

"I'm in a happy place now and I'm enjoying life, so let's make the most of it, ha ha!"
