Default The Guest: My Mission Was To Save Jungle Cats!

Quote:
Author Colin Butts, 39, saw the BB machine in action when he appeared on E4's EFourum discussion show to try to help Jason and Victor win.

IF I had been asked on TV to comment on any previous Big Brother I would have felt a bit of a saddo admitting I was more concerned with a collection of desperate wannabes than all of the other more important things going on in the world.

But this time round, NOTHING on the planet was more important than trying to save the jungle cats from eviction.

That is why I jumped at the chance to be on EFourum. Well, this and the fact that stunning supermodel Sophie Anderton was also appearing as a guest.

The house is situated in what looks pretty much like any normal industrial estate, apart from the security being more G5 summit than BB5 gameshow.

Apparently even ex-housemates and household names needed the laminated security passes to get in.

The EFourum studio was so close to the Big Brother house that I could have heard Dan change his mind - from the outside. I've seen more inviting prisons.

Quirky host Russell Brand got the crowd going as we counted down to the live broadcast. Within the first minute he was asking what we thought of housemate Ahmed, who was up for eviction that night.

I said he reminded me of the Bo Selecta bear, which got the nerve-calming laugh I needed. The strangest part of the show was when they connected to live phone guest Russell Grant.

God only knows what he was on but from his comments I would have said probably one of the planets he studies.

I breathed a sigh of relief as the show came to a close - I'd managed not to swear or upset anyone.

Actually, that's not strictly true. Russell commented on how the housemates had become 'fuller'. He meant in personality but when, without thinking, I mumbled, 'yeah, Michelle's well lardy', Sophie gave me a little sisterhood slap.

I think it was at that moment that I was most pleased she was the star guest rather than Vanessa Feltz.
