'Actually, you dumped me! Simon Cowell and Terri's bizarre U.S. TV love-split intervie Simon Cowell has laughed off rumours he has given his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour a £5million 'parting gift'... because she was the one who dumped him.
The model-turned-TV presenter ended the couple's six year relationship in the summer, but they only confirmed the split earlier this month.
In a bizarre joint interview on U.S. TV show Extra, the couple insist their relationship ended on good terms and they remain close friends.
Cowell was reported to have given Seymour £2.3million in cash and another £2.3million mansion in Beverly Hills.
But when Seymour asks him: "Did you give me £5 million in cash?" Cowell emphatically states: "No! no." Teri adds: "Everybody thinks you did!" while Cowell insists: "No, that is actually not a true story."
Cowell then pulls a face as he reveals: "This is weirdest interview I have ever done!" And it gets even weirder as Teri then asks for advice in dating other men.
She says: "What do you think is the best advice you can give me for going out there and meeting new men?"
Cowell simply jokes: "Find someone who is hard of hearing." The couple appear to still be close as they also joke about who spends the most money, who has the most clothes and who is the most romantic.
When asked by Extra who is the most romantic, Cowell immediately answers: "Terri!" She then adds: "I'm not arguing with him over that one. He came home from the dentist once and he'd bought me a toothbrush!
"I thought that was very romantic and very sweet!" Seymour also claimed that Cowell owned more clothes and shoes than does, telling him: "You have a thousand of the same thing!
"You definitely have more shoes than me. Actually maybe I beat you in the shoe stakes!" But Cowell insists: "I have just three things - jeans sweaters and tee-shirts." He also claims that Seymour spent more money than him during their time together - including a chunk of his money.
After she pointed the finger at him after being asked who spends more money, Cowell said: "That's not true. You spent more of my money that I have I suppose." Seymour also revealed that the American Idol judge's most annoying habit was his smoking, adding: "Simon's most annoying habit is probably smoking.
However Cowell revealed that Seymour's lateness was the thing that annoyed him the most abut her, adding: "Her lateness was an issue. "Terri actually held a record from starting to get ready to arriving at a venue which was 20 minutes away - seven hours.
"That's the absolute truth." Despite their split, the couple still talk every day on the phone.
Cowell, 49, said: 'I do call Terri, first, when I've got an issue or I'm moaning about something, or I want to bounce an idea off.' Seymour, 34, agreed: 'We do speak more now on the phone all the time. It's true.' Since their split, Seymour has been linked to Hollywood heart-throb Stephen Dorff.
