Goody times
Quote:
FOR a fun-filled few hours at least, Jade Goody was able to put all her troubles on ice as she treated her sons to an early taste of Christmas.
The ex-Big Brother star has had more than her fair share of ups and downs in life.
Accusations of racism derailed her meteoric career rise. Then came this year’s bombshell of cervical cancer.
Now, in between painful radio and chemotherapy treatments, she has to visit on-off partner Jack Tweed in prison, where he is serving 18 months for battering a boy with a golf club.
But this week she was happy to be on thin ice as she took sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, skating at London’s Hyde Park Winter Wonder Land.
For once it was her stomach, not her emotions, doing somersaults on a rollercoaster. And being on a slippery slope was rare cause for laughter as she and the boys went down the slides.
The star had a hysterectomy to try to halt her cancer and revealed earlier this month that she has a 50/50 chance of survival.
But Jade, 27, said her illness had forced her to reassess her life and brought her closer to boyfriend Jack, 21. She said: “I’m having up days and down days, but I keep telling myself I won’t let this beat me.”
And she was as good as her word as she took her sons to see Santa Claus.
Her own list of Christmas wishes could take him a while to get through.
