Last jungle song for Simon Webbe as he becomes the eighth person to leave I'm A Celebrity

Former Blue singer Simon Webbe has become the eighth person to leave the jungle.

The handsome pop star, 29, was thrilled to be reunited with his singer girlfriend Layla Manoocheri just hours after he was moved to tears seeing her in a video message.

During his 19 days in the Australian bush, Simon suffered a few medical mishaps including being bitten by a scorpion and needing an oxygen mask after a scary underwater bush tucker trial.

Hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly entered camp in the morning, telling Simon or George Takei it could be one of them.

After being told it was him, Simon looked relieved.

As he hugged his last remaining campmates Joe Swash, Martina Navratilova, George Takei and David Van Day, the latter enthused about Simon's waiting girlfriend.

After seeing Layla's pretty face on a video message earlier, David said: 'You're going to see your lady,' before shouting: 'Layla, he's coming.'

uring his post-jungle interview with Ant and Dec, Simon admitted it was a relief to be out.

He said: 'I'm good. It's a relief. I didn't think I would last this long.

'I didn't get the chance to do the bush tucker trials I wanted to do. It was always a group thing.

'But I enjoyed it the mental part of it. I could hear my mum's voice saying "don't do anything stupid, keep cool".'

The normally level-headed Simon admits he was stunned by how frequently he lost his temper - particularly with David.

He explained: 'I didn't think I'd snap as much as I did. I'm normally a cool character. My buttons were being pushed.'

Watching footage of his bush tucker trials, during one which required Simon to swim underwater despite being terrified of water, he said he still remains scared of spiders and water.

On to the subject of David, who has been tipped to win the show, despite his obvious game-playing tactics, Simon admitted he didn't trust the Eighties pop star from the moment he entered camp a week later than everyone else.

He said: 'I saw (David's game plan) in his eyes. I saw that he wasn't honest.

'I think he's a nice guy underneath it all. He's here to play the game. I thought reality TV was about being real.

'He's a great character. I watched him playing tennis with himself yesterday.'

After tipping Martina or Joe to win, Simon strolled down the walkway into the arms of his girlfriend Layla, who was a contestant in this year's X Factor.
