I\'ll marry Layla, she is the one
Quote:
I'll marry Layla, she is the one JUNGLE loser Simon Webbe has said he wants to marry his girlfriend after the show made him realise how much he loves her.
The Blue hunk said he spent hours in camp dreaming of sexy Layla Manoochehri, 22 — who appeared on The X Factor as part of failed group Girlband.
They had an emotional reunion yesterday and celebrated with a feast of lobster and champagne at the Versace hotel.
Simon, who got £100,000 for appearing on I’m A Celebrity, said: “I’ve been with Layla for four years and I still fancy the pants off her when she walks in the room.
“I’ve never been like that with anyone. So many girls before just wanted me as a stepping stone to something.
“But Layla is so caring. She thinks about me all the time — she’s so supportive.
“I said she could bring a mate to Australia and I’d pay, but she said, ‘No, I want to be there for you.’
“This show has really proved to me how much I care for her. It dawned on me how much I love her. I’d like to think I’d marry her.”
He added: “Layla has been around me a lot longer than most — I’ve known her since Blue did the first album.
“All she’s ever been is supportive of me. If that’s not the qualities of someone you’d want to marry one day then I don’t know what is.”
Simon, 29 — who has one daughter, Alanah, 12 — admitted he got close to WAG Carly Zucker and glamour model Nicola McLean, 26.
Dani Behr suggested Simon and Nicola were so cosy they might have got together if they didn’t have partners.
But Simon said it was all platonic, laughing: “I’ve only been with one blonde girl. They’re not really my type.
“I’ve been a model so I’m used to being around attractive people. But I don’t just look at someone with big boobs and think they’re fit. I’m a bit deeper than that.
“I didn’t have sexual feelings towards anyone there. I was just thinking I couldn’t wait to be with my girl — and how hungry I was.”
Simon said camp joker David Van Day got on his nerves — but he now believes he should WIN.
He said: “When he came in I thought, ‘Is he a plant?’ We had cross words because he said he would top himself if he had to stay another night in the cage.
“Two friends have committed suicide so I thought he was out of order. I even had a cry to myself by the pool.
“Afterwards I said to him, ‘Don’t cross me’ and we never crossed each other again.”
But Simon said he respected David, 52 — a singer in 80s duo Dollar. He said: “David’s entertaining. I often found myself swinging in my hammock and laughing at what he was doing.
“He’s like a pantomime villain. I think he’s a nice guy underneath it all.
“If he goes on to win he may well deserve it — because he’s been entertaining and if that’s what the viewers want, then fine.”
Simon admitted he wanted a career boost from the show. The singer plans to release a single and album on his own label next year.
He has quit EMI after growing frustrated that they put off releasing his third solo album for 18 months.
Simon said of the show: “I needed that platform to show people who I am.
"My public only know me for Blue.
“I didn’t win but at least I can say I was myself. I didn’t have a game plan.”
