Simon Cowell enjoys another bachelor night out as he wines and dines until 4am

Bachelor Simon Cowell made the most of his newfound freedom with a late night out at London's China Tang restaurant.

The X Factor judge looked in high spirits as he emerged from the celebrity haunt at 4am this morning after a long sit-in with friends.

Simon, who split from long-term girlfriend Teri Seymour last month, admitted on Sunday that hitting the town as a free agent is a welcome relief.

He said: 'You know the best thing about being single? Those latenight calls I don't have to make anymore, like "Darling, I'll be late home again".

'I don't mean to sound horrible to Terri but I'm having a great time being single - it's really good fun.'

While he no longer has to check in with the TV presenter, he is still determined to remain close with the 34-year-old.

He told The People: 'I hope we stay in touch - but we'll only ever be friends.'

'She and I still speak and we always will. I'm friends with all my old girlfriends - I don't see the point in falling out with them after you spend so much time with them.

'It was sad when Terri and I finished but now I get to do what I want - which is brilliant.

'I don't want to settle and get married and don't think I ever will. I work hard and enjoy life as it is.'

Simon has not been short on company since the split - he has enjoyed nights out with billionaire retailer Sir Philip Green and his former girlfriend Jackie St Claire in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, he is of course gearing up for the grand finale of X Factor on Saturday night.

It was revealed yesterday that the three finalists Eoghan Quigg, Alexandra Burke and JLS have all been banned from criticising the pop svengali.

The finalists' 80- page contract, which is enforceable anywhere in the world 'and the solar system' says the artists must not make any comments that are unduly negative, critical or derogatory of the company 'including its personnel and, in particular, Simon Cowell'.
