CHERYL BACKING FAVOURITE ALEX IN X FACTOR FINAL ALEXANDRA Burke, 20, from London, insists that she will not let the fact that she is the bookies’ favourite to win affect her performance on the night.
She said: “The bookies’ favourite to win changes every week – it changes all the time. So to me it means absolutely nothing.
“As Simon said, it is all about your performance on the night. I want to win – but there’s no shame in not winning. After all, we are now down to the last three out of 180,000 entries.”
Her mentor, Cheryl Cole, added: “Alexandra’s been the bookies’ favourite but that’s added quite a lot of pressure onto her.
“She’s really struggling with her nerves so I’m just trying to contain that, and telling her just to keep on doing what she’s been doing.
“She comes out there every week terrified and sings and dances amazingly – so I’m not as worried as she is.”
