Derek competes for place in boy band
Local singer Derek Hartigan from Donoughmore, Limerick, has made it one step closer to hitting the musical big-time by taking part in the Irish auditions for new boy band, All Eyes, at the Shelbourne Hotel on Sunday 22nd August.
22 year old Derek, competed against lots of Irish hopefuls for the chance go up against the crème de la crème of young singing talent in a head to head VIP final on 1st September at London’s Tiger Tiger.
Organised by Specsavers who operate 22 stores in Ireland the group are searching for a fourth member to join an already three-strong, boy band who will release their single, 'She's A Vision’, in October in aid of Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and UK, Guide Dogs.
The event was hosted by Emma Ledden and Ray Shah from Q102 and judges included Paul Martin, Showbiz Correspondent for the Mirror and TV Now Editor, Penny Gray.
Ten finalists, who will be chosen from auditions in Birmingham, Glasgow, London and Dublin, will compete for the coveted place in the band. The band’s mentor is Bros star Matt Goss and celebrities including Tim Vincent, producer Brian Rawlings and TV Presenter Andi Peters are backing the band. The existing band members met on the set of a TV commercial for and are Freddy (18), Dudley (18) and Nico (22).
