BIG Brother is to bring out its own label goods - including condoms.

Wine, champagne, gifts, mugs, cosmetics, clothes and games will also be sold under the reality TV show's brand.

Products "targeted at women and gay men are high on the agenda", according to industry magazine Broadcast.

This year's Big Brother was won by transsexual Nadia and many housemates have been gay, lesbian or bisexual.

Joe Mahoney, head of commercial development at Channel 4, said: "Big Brother is a big brand for the channel and we will consider everything but keep it in line with the programme sponsor."

Phone firm Talk Talk sponsored the last series so Big Brother bosses will not promote rivals.

The TV channel is talking to rights agency Keyline Licensing about what goods to market, says Broadcast. Big Brother, which has just finished its fifth series, has been a money spinner, pulling in cash from advertising and premium rate voting phone lines.

Licensing its own products would keep the cash rolling in while the show is off the air until the new series starts. And bosses are convinced regular viewers will snap up its merchandise. Sariah Smalley, president of Keyline, said products would be top notch like champagne and would not include beer because it represented "lager culture".

The first goods could be out before the sixth series next summer.
