Default Just an idea...

Ive seen this done in other forums, but just raising the point.
Ive noticed lately there are a lot of young members, some of the youngest ranging from 12 -13, and in the past we have had some quite old topics. Whats your views on having a +18 section? Where only over 18's can enter, where we can talk about older things like sex, and swearing is allowed.

If it was ever to happen, it will protect younger eyes and keep the older people happy. Obviously the section would have its own rules and there will be certain things/images that can't be posted just as respect.

Opinions?

Think it's a good idea, but maybe members over the age of 16 as that is the age of consent for sex etc.

I've brought this up before and I'm sure Lauren and Linda have too.

I think it would be awesome, then I can freely talk about my genitals and not get criticized ... like a bit of the forum and have a password on it that only older member know?

But I think people would have to prove their 18 first, which I doubt alot of people would do. I'm up for it though.

Roll on the sexual convos.

See that was the one thing that I thought would get raised, this whole Clique idea and people being left out. But it can be frustrating when we can't talk about these things because of younger viewers. Even basic things like saying what we want to do to certain housemates haha.

In some cases though, it's better to leave the younger ones out if it's about issues like sex and other 'mature' issues. I doubt a 13 year-old's parents would want their child reading about explicit sexual things.

It's got a few problems.

- How do people prove they're 18+?
- Might cause cliquey problems.

I guess to counteract the second issue it could be a rule not to discuss other members in the 18+ section (whether that be positively or negatively). Don't know about proving their age though.

Theres a certain someone .... waaaaaay older than most, who I've seen speak dirty to younger members ...

In theory an 18+ section would be good ... but how would we prove it? Anyone could just pretend to be 18 to get in

Thats true, but the section should not be visible to guests so when they join they have no idea about the section, then when you sign up. You shouldn't be able to change your age, and you can only get in the section once your age is 18.
If people create new accounts then they will get banned for having multiple accounts. And then if they get around with it, its their own fault if they see explicit things!

i think its a really good idea i have seen it done on other forums and was done on the age when signing up although guess it is open to being abused a bit but not sure how to get round it
i think 16+ would work but then i personally think the age should be raised on here for the sign ups anyway

Oh and before you enter the section there should be a warning where you have to accept the terms and conditions. And warnings that if you get found you will be banned, or warned. We know how old most of the current members are, and if Mark banned the changing of the age before telling anyone. Then thats fair, and if anyone wanted to change it, they will need to photocopy ID or something?

But people don't have to state their age to join, it's optional. And what about poeple who don't want persoanl details like their age plastered across a forum?

I agree, Big Brother is aimed at the age range of 16+ anyway. Some of the issues that are discussed on here about Big Brother aren't really appropriate for younger people.

I think the age for signing up should be raised to 15.
