How do you add a scrath effect to photos?

I am going to use Scampi's Marvelous banner as an example



I mean, the kind of broken effect over the picture?

Its something to do with adding a texture or something like that? Thats as much as I know.

Use a scratch texture over it, then put the blending mode as 'Screen'.

I'm not a very good explainer ^.^

And plus I wanted to beat whoever else was gonna beat me too it

You can either save it to your computer.. and put it on the banner like you would a picture. Then put it over the whole banner and 'Screen' mode it.

Or you and just copy and paste it on and put it onto 'Screen' mode

Don't put it as screen though but it as Difference or try something else to make the scratches look nicer. You can do that with other colour textures, thats what I do.
