Default 2nd show of Friday is least watched eviction ever

The following do not include +1:

1st show- 3.5m
2nd show- 2.2m

The only good news is that it doesnt include +1 so the 1st show could reach 3.8m even 3.9m with +1.

The 2nd show finished 8 minutes early so that could have dented the average by about 500,000 and its not including +1 either which can add about 300,000 or more to it too.

Edit- +1 are in!!!

1st show- 3.8m
2nd show- 2.3m

Probably down to Lucy more then anything. There's no point worrying about ratings it's still excellent for channel 4.

Sarurday got 2.1m without +1, hopefully that adds a few hundred thousands (i watched last nights on +1).

I think this is a good thing for C4 actually, it hopefully will give them a wake up call, sack all the current producers, find new ones and get it done ready for BB10.

Big Brother needs to be fresh! But can it ever reach those hights of the early naughties?

TV snobs play a part in this, if it was on itv it would gain more viewers just because it is on itv.
Even when a boring episode of celeb get me out of here is on it pulls the viewers... Itv thats why!

It's only celeb BB!
Lets wait for BB10... Then BB11 (10th year) could be its last... On the Channel 4 network.

After BB is done and gone it could be brought back in 20years time as retro tv returns!

When people like LaToya, Tina, Ulrika and Coolio are up for eviction, that's when people will tune in.

I doubt it - we had lowest ever ratings for evictions in BB8 and BB9 and they didn't do a thing.

No surprise at all - evictions alone are no longer enough of a reason to watch the live Friday shows - they really need to be putting much more effort in.

I think we all agree too they'd be better off in one 90-minute slot, but it's far too easy to blame the timeslot. BB1 had evictions at 11pm and BB2 had them at 10.30pm and nobody complained then - and if Jonathan Ross can still get over 4m viewers in the 10.35pm slot on Friday nights the audience is obviously still out there. Plus it's now a recession and everyone's too skint to go out on a Friday night anyway.

Im looking at the positives.... the 1st show did well and when the officials come out it will be over 4m.

Also the officials come out will significantly raise the average. All the finishing early shows and people recording the shows.

eg. Mondays go got 3.7m which is a lot for a Monday, in the officals it normally adds about 200-500,000 viewers, so that HL show could be an overall rating of 4m.
Then the ratings we've had in the last few days have been 3-3.3m, all of those could all rise into the over 3.5m stage and this could increase the average by a lot.

So if the overnights average stays at 3.3m (where it is now), the officials could reach 3.6-3.9m.

Theres only 3 reasons that can explain that:

1. People are tired of BB
2. Theres not as many people watching TV in 2009 as there was between 2000-2004
3. C4 gets lower viewers than BBC1 so Jonathan Ross gets higher ratings at that time because its on BBC1

thats not so bad
look at Richard & Judy who left Ch4
and went to UKwatch ch.
they are getting around just 12,000 viewers
of course picking the prime time of 8pm
was their big error.

I'm not surprised really, Lucy bored me to tears as has the entire series so far to be honest - and that's coming from someone who finds it hard to bad mouth BB. Even as a hardcore fan I have been tempted to switch over many times, and have chosen to record the last 3 highlights shows/eviction so I could watch something else. Last year that was completely unheard of for me. I would wrestle with me entire family to keep the remote from switching over.

The cast is brilliant, the house is great, the potential is there, but the producers have decided to feed us the same drivel that got tedious 2 years ago. They have royally ****ed up this series.
