A peak of over 9.5 million tuned in to see the start of a new series of Dancing On Ice last night (Sunday), according to early figures.
The launch of the fourth series, which includes celebs such as Todd Carty and Melinda Messenger, averaged 8.42m (32.4%) for ITV1 between 7pm and 8.30pm, peaking with 9.55m (35.6%) at 8pm. The programme was by far the most-watched show of the day, but the audience was down somewhat on the 9.17m (36.4% - consolidated) who tuned in for the launch of the last series on January 13, 2008.
Dancing On Ice: The Skate Off, in which Graeme Le Saux was voted off, had 6.32m between 9.30pm and 10pm.
