Default This Effing Sucks - My BB Rant

I really must voice my anger over how stupendously the producers have ****ed up this series. Earlier today I saw the healines "BB RATINGS HIT ALL TIME LOW". And instead of my usual groan and feeling of worry in my stomach, I simply thought, "Well I'm not suprised".

We really should've known from early on. It started with a seriously shoddidly produced and unenticing advertising campaign. They didn't even try to hide the fact theat they didn't even redo the BB9 eye flashes - let alone produce new ones - no, they made it pretty clear they just did a half arsed edit. They failed to realise that the star pupil was far to big and the red segment was a little too far down.

Then the whole lack of launch night twist. Celebrity Big Brother is known for getting a lot of casual viewers, people that wouldn't watch the summer series. So naturally as they have done in the past, it should start with a bang to coax these newbies to continue watching. But nothing. Only a rehash of the summer format tweak, hardly a twist.

This lack of suprise has reflected trhoughout the series. Because there was nothing to start with the housemates settled in nicely unlike previous series where they kept them on their toes. So then when they finally do attempt a surprise element, the surprise reveal of the nominations - which got less than 2m viewers due to a horrific lack of advertising. - it could not have fallen any flatter. The housemate were far from shocked and the viewers that did tune in were rightly unimpressed.

One of the worst things about CBB6 has got to be the shameless whoring of Verne's disability. They could not shove it down our throats any more. Make it as obvious that he is your "chosen one" as you possibly can. Whats worse is that we are been given an obscured view of the other housemates, whenever anything remotely interesting comes out of some of the quiter housemates mouths such as Ben or Mutya, we get no more than a minute of it before it switches to Verne informing Tommy yet again of how his condition affects him.

------------------------------------------------------------

BB needs a total overhaul for BB10. The advertising campaign needs refreshing, we;ve had the same since BB3 now, it doesn't excite anyone anymore and hasn't one since BB7.

The house and studio needs a look over too. BBLB and Big Motuh needs scrapping, put George on a replacement and a new host for a BBBM style show but with a real audience - not a crowd of deluded wannabes desperate for fame. Regular people who enjoy the show and want to share their opinion.

Re-evaluate the character of Big Brother. BB9's Zero Tolerance theme was ambitious to say the least and totally unrealistic. Perhaps a "Justice" them would be more fitting. The tasks need to have a clear theme and longer. No more three chances for each three sets of housemates and then threee chance within that group.

Basically - change or kill. It'sthe only respectable option.

Big Brother has been bullshit for several years now, IMO the last really decent one was BB7.

I agree with everything!

I stopped watching two episodes in, and I plan to keep it that way. I'm not wasting my time with a show in which producers put in little to none effort. I don't even pity C4 that the ratings are some of the lowest ever because it's really reflecting the quality of the show. You can only put people in a house and do the same things each year for so long. The show needs a complete rehaul, and until that's done I wont give them site hits, streaming views and even a TV rating. Looking at the ratings and the current situation of the show, it seems others are doing the same!

And the celebrities seem boring. No offence to any of them, but they hardly are celebrities. Michelle Heaton's claim to fame these days is being spotted outside China Whites with Chanelle Hayes or something, and Lucy Pinder? If you call flaunting your body a talent. C4 sure know how to bury a show six feet under, don't they?

Personally I think the cast is one of the most relevant we've ever seen. Not necessarily superstars but most people have heard of a lot of them. But that makes it even worse again as it says that even with a cast that oozes potential they eff it up.

There weren't many twists in last year's summer BB. They even got rid of the solitary confinement room.

This CBB is the worst ever their tasks are so boring the elctric shock one was good but I didn't find it as funny as the first time round. The lack of the red button is something that I miss.

YOU PEOPLE HAVE NOTHING BETTER IN YOUR LIFES TO DO THAN CRITICISE AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW. HOW LOW ARE YOU PEOPLE.

Typing in full caps lock is against the rules: watch that for next time.

Also, people are entitled to discuss the show if they wish - do not insult other forum members.

Not as low as scum like you that's for sure.

"Zero tolerance" - completely forgotten that was supposed to be the theme of BB9!

Agree with almost everything you say Gazbo - not sure BBLB and Big Mouth need axing, especially just to replace them with new but similar shows, but they both definately need fine tuning. I'd definately keep George and Jack too as despite how poor the main show is, I'm actually enjoying BBLB and Big Mouth quite alot this year.

BBLB basically needs more behind the scenes features though - that behind the scenes at eviction night feature on Sunday was the best thing on the show in ages, while as you say Big Mouth needs real fans - and IMO more from viewers calling in. Big Ears may have been one spin off too many, but it was fantastic in terms of getting opinions from genuine fans.

Careful about posting insults, even if they are provoked: it's not the encouraged way to debate on TiBB.

is it now. im not the one who is sitting on a forum critising the show when its not doing what previous bb uk shows hav done or not. all bb shows are different. im not talkin about bblb or big mouth, i couldnt care less.
the main show has been one of the best CBB to date. it has the right hms. you can see that big brother are treating them like normal hms.
people are complaining no twists or shocks. but yet they still wnat it like bb1. which had no shock or twist apart from NASTY NICK.
so when you low lifes sit here and talk BS then im afraid it gets on my last nerve.
its a bloody entertainment show. it has been going on for the last 10 years. maybe some of you kids are just growing up now and haev not seen the early bb's.

A "bloody entertainment show" is supposed to be entertaining though - this isn't, and well informed and respected members of the forum all know this is one of the worst CBB's, not one of the best.

Some posts have been edited with comments.

Back on topic, I do generally agree. BB just isn't as exciting and I can see it not lasting much longer... in which case TiBB would probably be a forum that branches out into all kinds of TV (TV discussion forum).

It's just so annoying... if BB itself feels the novelty is wearing off, we can't be expected to feel any different. BB10 would be a good time to end things.

I agree with you.

Not only do we have a lack of entertaining housemates, but the twists are nothing to boast of.

I have never seen a more boring and meaningless housemate than BEN. He makes Rachel [BB9] look exciting! WHY IS HE EVEN IN THERE?

The only entertaining housemates are Coolio, Terry, Tina and Ulrika. Atleast they say something!

And the producers are doing nothing to stir things up! Its getting rather irritating. If Coolio was not in the house i might have already switched off completely.

Ben and Lucy were obviously only chosen as the eye candy, but what's the point in eye candy when there is no opportunity to flash the flesh - they should at least have put a hot tub in, if not a sauna too. And that gives the HMs something to do - OK, they're still sitting around chatting, but dipping in the hot tub for half an hour is half an hour they're not say on the sofas.

The celebs are bored - and hence we're bored too!

If you want to watch it peacefully thats fine, but if others want to discuss their likes and dislikes thats also fine for them to do that. The whole point of this forum is to discuss BB and people's likes and dislikes and there you are slamming people for daring to have an opinion that is contrary to your own. I think a little more tolerance is needed, if threads infuriate you maybe you could avoid them.

its not the threads. its what people are complaning about. they want this they want that. why do you want to expect things. let it be. why complain it still big for ch4. people are watching it even tho they are complaining 9 they cant help themselves) people are and will be audtioning for bb10. its a entertainment show. if you think you can do better that go ahead to the auditions and see where it takes you.
but stop comparing current bb to previous bb. if the producers do that then you get people complaining they didnt do anything new.
you cant satisfy everybody.

Big Brother is on its very last legs, its sad to see a loved show go this way...
I agree with Damonj, the last good BB was BB7

It had the sense of event when a task happened (They even changed some footage bumpers/opening titles for the Golden ticket twist) an eviction was exciting because the audience outside was loving it

Twists nowadays are just whacked in for the sake of it
