THE estranged dad of Big Brother’s Jade Goody was last night critically ill after a suspected drugs overdose.

A source close to serial offender Andrew Goody, 41, said: “His kidney’s collapsed and he’s on a life support machine. “He is conscious but he is not in a good way.”

Jade revealed last year she had disowned Andrew because of his drug-taking. She was informed yesterday he was at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Dorset. Last night a spokeswoman for the BB3 star — who gave birth to her second boy Freddy just weeks ago — said: “Jade’s not seen or spoken to her dad for over a year. “This has all come as a bit of a shock and she is deciding whether to contact him.”

When Jade, 23, cut ties last year with Andrew — who has 50 convictions over 26 years — she explained it was over fears for her one-year-old son Bobby. At the time she was still with boyfriend Jeff Brazier, 24, and said: “I don’t take drugs, Jeff doesn’t take drugs, none of our friends take drugs.

“Why would I bring my father into Bobby’s life when he could be a bad influence?” And she added: “My mum Jackie’s always been a mum and a dad to me.”

Her statement came after an emotional reunion with Andrew earlier last year while he was serving four years in prison for armed robbery. He vowed to mend his ways after being freed, saying: “Jade told me if I go near drugs again I won’t be allowed near the baby.” But he was back in jail months later after being caught with crack. He was freed again later.

Unfortunately you can't pick who your parents are.
