KATE Thornton was booed off stage at the Strictly Come Dancing tour – when she got her cities mixed up.

The former X Factor host, 34, thought she was in Liverpool and shouted to the crowd “come on Liverpool!” when she was actually in Newcastle.

Kate had just announced that Rachel Stevens, 30, had been crowned the first winner of the tour's shows when she made the gaffe, prompting boos from the Geordie-filled audience.

She later fretted: “That was the worst thing I could have said. Everyone in Newcastle probably hates me now!"
