Heyy..I've just had a really bad strange night. I was out with my friend all day in Belfast City Centre. My girlfriend, Tina was out with her other friends, and all was fine. But, when I was on the bus to go home, I got a call from her friend saying she was really drunk and she was calling for me. I was a little unphased, because she's been drunk before and I was like "oh right, is she ok?" and she was like "No, she's fallen at least 4 times and has hit her head hard." And I could hear her moaning in the background, so I was like..this must be pretty bad. I got off the bus, much to my friend's anger, and ran to get her. They said she was in one of the shopping centres, so I went up, and they told me she was in the toilets. When I got up to the toilets, some were standing outside and they told me she was really bad, and I couldn't go in, because obviously, it was a girls' toilets. I felt so useless and I just couldn't do anything. To make things worse, one of her friends (a boy) said to me "If it was my girl, I wouldn't have let this happen", which made me feel like the crappest boyfriend in the world, cuz it was kinda true. Anyways, I forced myself to go in. Everyone told me it was okay to, even though loadza women coming in kept looking at me. I went to the cubicle where all her friends were standing and she was lying there with her head between her legs covered in sick. It make me feel sick even looking at it. They had been trying for ages, apparently, to get her up, but she wouldn't, and she had puked over herself. It was disgusting. Eventually, we got her up and dragged her through town to a taxi depot and got a private taxi home. Luckily, they were kind about it, despite the first one we tried refusing us. When we got her home, her mum was furious and tried to blame us. I felt like I deserved some of the blame though, but I told her that I hadn't been with her all day. So I've just come home, feeling like crap. I feel I should have done something to stop her. She told me she was drinking last night, but I didn't know she would drink so much. She apparently drank half of two 10 glass bottles of vodka RAW. I just think I could have prevented this, and that I should have been there for her. :/ Can anyone relate to this or help me? It's really got to me, tbh. lol.

Dont think that you are a bad boyfriend because your girlfriend drank a little bit too much and got drunk and embarrassed herself.

Her friends should have stopped her drinking so much as they were the ones who were with her, not you. Do not blame yourself.

Try speaking to her about it though. Say that you felt that she over did it and say that you were worried about her. But do not blame yourself because of the state that she got herself into.





oh and ignore the male friend. They are probably just sour cos she is your girlfriend

Your not there it isnt your fault imo, no matter how much you think you could change somthing sounds pretty bad though and you can just go into a girls toilet if there is something serious happening..

Her friend is in no position to judge. Notbeing funny its her choice when and when not to drink. You didn't give herthe bottle and say, "Knock Yourself Out". You are a person, not a carrier of someone. You carry your own weight, an just like any other human being, spends time with other people, we ain't joined at the hip with our partners.
No one can say you don't care, otherwise you wouldn't have got off the bus and ran to find her. Your a person not a carer,this shouldn't be your fault and it isn't.
I can't help you, all I can do is tell you is that you can't blame yourself. Youdon't need people digging at ya.
Try to forget about it, even though you probablly can't.

You are not a bad boyfriend at all, its got nothing to do with you, she is her own person. She brought it on herself, sounds like she owes an apology to you rather than the other way round! You did what you could, and you did the right thing and went too her!

Awww thanks guys. I've been worrying all night so I rang her house to see how she is. Her mum said she's in bed and she's fine but that she'll talk to her tomorrow. She'll probably get grounded for a year if she's lucky. LOL. But her mum thanked me for bringing her home so that made me feel a bit better. I still feel bad though, but I suppose I can't help it. I'm gonna try to forget about it and go to sleep LOL. Thanks again everyone!
