Dear Kelly Brook....

I just HAD to write to you to say how truly, truly devastated I am about you being sacked for being rubbish that the format doesn’t support another judge.

It’s just SUCH a shame. I can honestly, genuinely, say – hand on heart – that I enjoyed our brief time as colleagues more than anything else in my life (professional and personal) ever before.

I’d long been an admirer of yours – your work on Celebrity Love Island is, of course, legendary, and how you were overlooked by Bafta remains a mystery (and travesty) – so I was really looking forward to sharing some of my BGT limelight with you.

Wasn’t it just SO fun when we turned up in matching white dresses with identical shoes? Not just best friends but twins too! It was so funny, I actually cried with laughter (which is why I burst into tears shortly after seeing you that day, in case you’ve been wondering).

It was SUCH a giggle being just one of the girls on the panel – in fact, really, your sudden departure is worse for me than it is for you. Now I’ll go back to being THE ONLY GIRL, which is really demanding, both physically and mentally, while you’ll probably just go on holiday with your hunky boyfriend (15).

I do hope those nasty, evil paparazzi don’t totally invade your privacy yet again by coincidentally turning up just as you’re snogging on the beach in a bikini and full hair and make-up.

Don’t worry though, little Kelly, Mandy-kins will – tres reluctantly, natch – go back to fighting the girl power cause all on her lonely ownsome. Yes, little old moi will proudly strike even more blows for feminism (well, if I have time after my squealing, flirting and crying).

As the minority judge, I suppose that really I’m the Obama of Britain’s Got Talent. And you, poor Kel, are the Sarah Palin. OK, you didn’t get the job in the end but your hair looked REALLY NICE throughout. I hope you can take some comfort from that, babe.

All the BGT team are going to miss you sooo much! Well, the ones you’d met, anyway. But instead of feeling sad, we’ll focus on the good times, the happy memories. Remember when you said to that act, “You was good”? Genius! And when you said to that other act, “You was OK”? Profound, babe! And you could dish out the criticism too, and that’s not easy. What was it you said? “You was bad”.

With a dry, cutting wit like that you won’t be on the dole long, Kel. And in the meantime, those calendars won’t pose for themselves…
