Miley Cyrus has sparked controversy after being photographed pulling a 'racist pose'.
A picture surfaced online over the weekend showing the Hannah Montana star pulling her eyes into a slant with an Asian-American sitting in her group of friends. Organisation OCA, which represents the Asian Pacific American community, slammed Cyrus and her friends for the gesture. "The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans," said OCA executive director George Wu. "This image falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent... Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimised the taunting and mocking of people of Asian descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American fans." OCA urged Cyrus to apologise for the "lapse in judgment". Digitial spy. |

Everyone in the world is racist nowadays...
Everything gets taken out of context and deemed racist. |

We all know that its a silly thing people do, but obviously an asian organization is gonna comment on it, and say its offensive. As a global star like she is, she should know better not to do certain things, let alone taking a photograph about it! Remember the uproar it had when the Spanish Olympic team did it in the summer?
SHe is just dumb if you ask me for getting involved in that, obviously! |

Her friend was obviously happy with it since they were all doing it.
News should stop trying to make a story out of **** all especially when she not smart enough to know that this crap happens. |

It doesnt matter who was in the picture. It matter the billions of Asians who see the picture. You cant sit there and say its not offensive, when it doesnt concern you! Are you Asian? I dont find it offensive, but obviously, lots of people will. Ive done it before, but I wouldnt do it in picture, in public, especially if I am a global superstar. LIke there is any chance this could happen and just be swept under the rug. She is gonna make those mistakes, and it will make headlines everytime. She needs to learn!

I ain't being funny but racism is a crime we can all admit to. I for one don't likeit and so doesn't most the world, but we don't refusse to laugh when a racist joke is told.

I don't think she's racist, but I'm sure non Miley fans are going to remain pretty indifferent about this (myself included). However, she's being paid SO much money and acts as a sort of role model to many young girls (God knows why though). She should know better than to behave stupidly, and set an acceptable example. Thus far she really isn't though, what with previous scandals (with the excuse for her usually being that she's young).
These new young Disney stars may well be young, but with the amount of money they're getting and filming they're doing, a responsibility is added onto it by default. A lot of them seem to just abuse it though and it's this new generation which has destroyed Disney in my eyes. |

I think its hard not to act stupid though, she is young... and she can't monitor everything she says every hour of every day. She is bound to slip up eventually.
