Default HM to ghost hunt in Newcastle

Big Brother contestants are set for a spooky reunion when they team up for a night of ghost-hunting in Newcastle.

Shell Jubin, Emma Greenwood, Sissy Rooney, Lisa Jeynes, Nasty Nick Bateman, Marco Sabba, Helen Adams, Paul Clarke, Stuart Wilson and Newcastle's Michelle Bass have all signed up for the event.

The intrepid bunch are set to spend a night in Newcastle Castle Keep, alongside North East paranormal expert Dean Maynard and Phil Whyman from Most Haunted, in February.

Dean came up with the idea after recently bumping into Michelle and Stuart while he was ghost-hunting in Blackpool.

The pair joined Dean and his team investigating paranormal activity at the ghost-train in Blackpool's pleasure beach.

The 32-year-old, of Prudhoe, said: "We had such good fun down in Blackpool that I thought I would see if any of the other Big Brother contestants wanted to give it a go.

"Michelle put a piece on her website asking anyone who was interested to get in touch and I was amazed at the response.

"More people keep signing up all the time so hopefully by the time we do it we will have a good crowd."

Television producers at LivingTV and Sky are already talking about filming the night for a television special. According to Dean, the Castle Keep is a perfect place to take the celebs because of its wealth of supernatural presences.

He said: "I've been there three times before now and it's a very interesting place. There's the ghost of a 15-year-old girl called Briony in the garrison room who was allegedly thrown into a cell of 15 men on death row.

"She was a flower-seller and had sold a flower to a gentleman who was promptly stung by a wasp.

"He reported her as a witch and she was thrown into the keep."

Dean works alongside a forensic expert and an archaeologist, and has been called out to more than 30 haunted properties over the last four years, including Killhope Lead Mine in Northumberland.

The team uses digital thermometers, night-vision cameras and humidity meters to try to track down spooks.

Dean recently carried out a live ghost-hunt on air for the Dermot O'Leary show on BBC Radio 2.

Oh I love Most Haunted - please can I go and join in. I could scream really loudly and need a cuddle from one of the housemates to calm me down, but I would also be very willing to conduct a vigil with just a certain tall, dark young man in the dark Oh Ok ROB and Rachel can join me too. We could take it in turns to have our hands held. It must be all the bravery she showed on CFF that could make Helen contemplate that. Or what will she and Paul be doing when the lights go out?

Wonder if Brian will present this.

Well BusyBee i know you always watch Most Haunted so you have no reason to be frightened
however You also know that I can't watch as I'm a big baby
so I think if anyone will need extra attention then it will be me
Thanks BS for finding this for usIt will be lovely to see them again even if we do have to watch Michelle and Stuartaswell.
I do hope Brian presents it.It would be great to see him with the BB lot again
