Hm, if it is written and directed right then it could be good. But it could go so SO wrong.

BIG Brother is to be turned into a musical.

Former housemate Stuart Hosking approached Lord Lloyd-Webber about putting the reality TV show on stage.
And amazingly the composer thinks it’s a good idea.

Entrepreneur Stuart, who starred in Big Brother 2 in 2001, said: “I have always thought there is scope to make Big Brother: The Musical.

“After all, they turned Jerry Springer into an opera. So why not Big Brother? I really think it can work.

“It would be very interactive and the audience would get involved in the action just like they do on the show.

“There was a recent call to get younger people into West End theatres and this is exactly the kind of thing that would get bums on seats.”

Stuart, 39, has also come up with a variety of stunts for the musical.

He wants the audience to evict the BB villains during each performance and vote for a winner at the end.

Stuart has written to the Phantom Of The Opera and Cats composer about getting it started. The Lord, 60, admits he once thought about doing Big Brother: The Musical himself. He said: “I had this idea to do Big Brother in the theatre. You would have people on the stage and you come in and watch them 24 hours a day. I thought if I don’t do it, someone will.”

Music has always played a big part in Big Brother. During the latest Celebrity BB, winner Ulrika Jonsson, 41, and Verne Troyer, 40, performed the Diana Ross and Lionel Richie duet Endless Love.

Last summer wannabes learned to play musical instruments. And in 2007 the gang wrote a ditty for a task called “BB8 Is The Place To Be”. *

Wow... a 24/7 show, now that would be bloody good. Didn't read that bit, but that sounds more like experimental theatre than a musical. I don't see the need to make it into a sing and dance show... but thats theatre for you. Psh.

Thank you all - this is progressing so will update soon,

What I would be interested in knowing if this happens how many people would actually make effort to go to the theatre and is that something you normally would do ..

I wish you luck with it Stu. I don't quite know how you're going to make a musical out of BB but I am sure you know what you're doing!
