Default Buying a Laptop

I already have one but I'm gonna give that to one of my brothers. I want a new one, with a built in webcam and built in microphone. It must have VISTA. Although I'm assuming most will be VISTA now anyway?

Price... roughly £200-400. Anyone reccomend any good ones?

I use my PC atm which I love but I drag my desktop up next to my bed and I go on my PC in bed and I have to constantly face on my side because I can't see otherwise and I get a bad back. That's why I want a new lappy.

Thanks if you can help.

Yeah, they are REALLY good! I have one (the computer I'm using as we speak) and they are very fast, effective, have loads of storage space and you can opt for the webcam and microphone.

I think they are out of production now though (because I got mine in August) seeing as I went on the Dell website and it said they have stopped making them.

The almost exact same thing is the Dell Inspiron 15 series which is pretty decent, here are some things about it:

Tech Specs

- Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache) - AS STANDARD

- Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 - English - AS STANDARD

- 1 Year Limited Warranty - Collect & Return - AS STANDARD

- No Camera Included - AS STANDARD -- However, you wanted a Webcam:

1.3 Mega pixel Integrated Web Camera (£30 extra)

- Black Colour with Matte Finish - AS STANDARD (You can however get 3 other colours:

- Blue with Microsatin Finish (£30 extra)

- Red with Microsatin Finish (£30 extra)

- Pacific blue colour with custom high-gloss finish (no extra cost)

- 15.6" Widescreen WXGA CCFL (1366 x 768) TFT Display with TrueLife - AS STANDARD

- 3072MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1 x 2048 + 1 x 1024) - AS STANDARD

- 250GB (5,400rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive - AS STANDARD

- Intel Integrated GMA 4500MHD - AS STANDARD

- DVD +/- RW Drive (read/write CD & DVD) - AS STANDARD

- 4-cell 24WHr Li-Ion primary battery - AS STANDARD (Although, I would recommend that you got the 6-cell battery (£39.15 extra))

- Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student / English - Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, Powerpoint (£70 extra)

Dimensions and Weight

- Width = 14.7" (34.4cm)

- Height (at front) = 1.02" (2.6cm) (at back) = 1.48" (3.8cm)

- Depth = 9.6" (24.4cm)

COST (with Webcam, 6-cell battery and Microsoft Office Works included) = £538.15 - £50.00 (for sale) = £488.15

If you want any more information, go to the Dell UK website:

Dell Website

Can you wait a few months?

You talk about Vista, but that is being shelved as the roll out Windows 7

Me too!

I find this Toshiba very reliable, I know many people that have Toshiba's. But they are a little more expensive.

But Ive had my laptop for over a year and it works like a dream.
