Default Yorkie Bars - Should they be boycotted while Nestle bars females from them

It has been a while now since Nestle introduced it's sexist campaign banning females from their product with their "It's not for Girls" slogan.

When they introduced this, Liverpool City council had to ban people working for Nestle who had been distributing free samples, only to men.

Even a director at the time seemed to indicate they did not want females touching their product, saying they should switch to other products.

Ever since their campaign I have boycotted this chocolate bar, which I used to love eating.

I have written to Nestle and all I got was a form letter

I have even joined this group on Facebook

So how can we get Nestle to change it's campaign and allow women to enjoy this product.

It is interesting to note that while McDonalds in 2006 bought into this sexist campaign with it's Yorkie McFlurry. In the 2009 Yorkie McFlurry, the "It's not for Girls" is absent

Erm. I think it's a joke?

To be fair, they're probably losing business - I wouldn't dare go into a shop to buy one if it has it slapped across it's not for girls. I don't care much about the chocolate to do that LOL.

I can imagine a wanky AD executive saying " yeah it'll cause lots of controversy and therefore free publicity... ". And then another one saying " yeah!! people will fall over themselves to look pro feminist by starting forum threads about it, there by getting our name out there even further!!".

Its just a joke... women can buy it if they want, it is a play on that it is really chunky chocolate and that girls can't handle it. I'm not gonna stop eating it, they are lush!

Would you buy a pink fluffy pen with "really gay girly pen" written across it, just cos it writes nice? ... Hahaha... maybe I just have hang ups, but I hate buying Yorkies when it's slapped right across them that it's for men.
Not that I'm against the ad campaign, if I was a man I'd buy them more, huuuarrrrr!

It's not any worse than Sheila's Wheels.

People are over-sensitive these days. If I want a Yorkie, I'll effing well buy one, and I don't give a flying **** what it says on the wrapper.

There are always people who take these things seriously, and it usually results in ads being banned etc. All the good ads get banned cuz they offend someone.

Sticks you always seem to defend women, are you a woman?

(not that defending women is a bad thing, but it doesn't really matter to him because he's a man)

I can't tell whether you are being serious or not Sticks, it's fairly obvious to EVERYONE that it's just a joke.
