Default Should this man get the death sentence?

I was watching a film today called "a Time to kill" and this is basically the situation

In 1960s America, in a black community, a young 9 year old black girl is walking home after buying groceries for her family. Two White men in their 20s come up to the girl and kidnap her. The take her to a field, tie her to a tree and both rape her numerous times. They then use her as a target, chucking FULL beer cans at her, so hard that it cuts her skin to the bone. They then make a rope into a noose and try to hang her. The Noose chokes her but the branch of the tree breaks. So they Urinate on her. They then take the girl in the ruck to a bridge, 30 foot from the floor. The Dangle the naked young girl, covered in Blood, urine and Semen, and throw her off of the Bridge and leave her for dead. The girl survives and the men run away. When the men are found, everybody says they will probably go free or go to jail for only about 3 weeks, because they are white. The Father of the girl, cannot stand the fact that they may get away with what they did to his daughter. He grabs a gun and at the court hearing, Shoots them Both in the head. He is then fighting for freedom and the chance to escape the death penalty

Do you think this man should get the death sentence, Or Even Prison? Do you think that he should be punished for what he did to the two men even though he was only protecting his daughter?

I Suggest you watch this film because it is actaully an amazing film. It has some violence, especially with the Ku Klux Klan killing people trying to free him

So, What do you think?

Yes. He killed two men, and the evidence is obviously 100% certain. The other two men should have got life, but they wouldn't have anyway.

Your obsessed with the death sentence! Noone should be sentenced to death, its immoral, hypocritical and inhuman. And serves no purpose. He should do his time and the judgw should take into account the circumstances. You cant have one rule for one and one for another so he cant just go free.

No matter the reason he has still killed 2 people infront of loads of people.

I think he should get a sentance because you have to take into account the families of the people who were shot.

Still what they did is sick.

No, one of them is Jack Bauer, they'd never catch him to put him in prison or to give him the death penalty.

Seriously though, nobody should be given the death penalty. Murder, rape, and other things like that should result in life in prison, not death.

Oh wait, I just read the post fully.

No, Samuel L. Jackson's character shouldn't be punished, I'm sure most/all parents would react the same as he did.

The two that did it should spend their lives in prison.

So this is Us doing your Homework
again.

Well at least you are Honest.

Euthanasia
is a better Topic
as people have to go to Switzerland
if they can not do it themselves.

There was a great Film on that
SciFi in the late 70's I think.
The people thought it was normal
that you give up your life at a age above 40 (approx).

Brilliant film. If I were in his shoes, I'd have shot them before they got to court, because of the fact that there was little chance of them getting punished properly for what they did (based on the time/place the film was set).

Is that the one with Samuel L. Jackson. If so brilliant film and very powerful.
He should still get prison because it's still murder, but not life. How does the film end again, i haven't watched it for ages?
